Their sapphires are beautiful, and their settings look very nice too - especially in the photos of finished jewelry for sale. The prices seem good and I''d love to get both sapphire and setting from the same place.

I did a search and didn''t find where anyone had purchased a setting from NSC (unless I was being dense and missed it.)

I am thinking about pave and want to make sure the workmanship and also the diamonds are top quality. I know with pave you usually get what you pay for, but I don''t have the budget for a great sapphire AND a designer setting. The NSC settings let me get the look I am going for and stay within my budget.

Anyone have a NSC setting? Seen them? Know anything about them?

Thanks a bunch!

I *think* Kaleigh has one. She has a lovely sapphire ring from them and I think they did her setting as well. Hers doesn't have pave though, at least not to my recollection.

I have two settings from the NSC. One of them is halo micro-pave in rose gold. I

it.
You can view the settings here. The quality/finish is very good.

I remember Linda mentioned she purchased settings from the NSC.

Hi TanDogMom,

Yes, I have quite a few ring settings from NSC. I don''t have pictures of them though. I had my Pads set with them. They are BEAUTIFUL. They are pave settings. The diamonds are very white, sparkle like crazy and they are D-F. They shine like crazy in the sun and throw off all kinds of color and rainbows.

I highly recommend the NSC not only for their sapphires, but for their settings as well.

Gypsy, Anita, and Linda, thank you so much for taking the time to reply! Anita and Linda, it''s wonderful to hear that you are both happy with the quality of your settings!! Anita I enjoyed your other thread, thank you for linking it. Your rings are beautiful!!!! So, I am assuming from your comments that the rings are holding up well for wear and tear and no problems with loose stones?
This is great news!!
Thanks again.

I do and I love it. I swear their settings are on par with Leon''s. Their benchman used to work for Cartier.

No loose stones, no diamonds falling out. I love my rings. I also have a pendant and earrings too.

Oh, my gosh, you ladies are making me so happy. I would so love to get sapphire and setting from the same place as it simplifies things so much. The settings look great online but a personal recommendation gives me much more confidence. To hear them compared with Leon, etc, well, wow!!! The prices are certainly not cheap but seem very much in line with other top quality vendors, and more reasonable than the designer settings I''ve checked into. The range of styles they offer is really great.

Wow, you all have made my day! Thanks again!

You are very welcome. What color sapphire are you looking at?????

Blue! Most likely I will not buy it until the fall, but I figured I''d start looking now. I''m thinking about a cushion cut in a halo setting. Just trying to decide if I prefer light or dark sapphires and what size works best for my hand and budget!

Steven Bliss is a joy to work with. He will send you sapphires to look at and you can pick the one that calls out to you.

This will be such an exciting project for you.!!!

Oh, I can''t wait! I''m considering buying it sooner because of metal prices - but I also know it will kill me to have it sitting at home and not be able to wear it (it''s for a big b-day in the fall.)

Do you happen to know if they custom make the settings to the stone? I had inquired elsewhere about stock settings and was told it is hard to get a sapphire into a stock diamond setting because the sapphires are cut deeper.

I think they do. Because it took awhile for me to get mine, so I am pretty sure they have to make the settings. Be sure to ask when you call.

I also have 3 loose padparadscha sapphires that they were going to put in a pendant for me. They are little ones. They designed a pendant for me. The cost was wonderful. Unfortunately, it is on hold, as we have other things we need to use the money for right now.

I will definitely ask! I was excited to see many bezel settings offered. I am thinking either a pave setting or maybe a sleek modern bezel (which would let me save some $ or put more $ towards the sapphire.)

Your future pendant project sounds wonderful - hope it comes together before long!

Regarding custom settings from NSC:

I approached Natural Sapphire Co. when I was considering a stone they had on offer. Asked if they could take one of their "stock" styles posted on their website, but I wanted a YG shank with WG or platinum head.

They said no, that they only provide the settings as posted on their website. I found that strange, as my request was a very simple one, not even a change in design but simply a white head/yellow shank (this was within the past 4 months).

Just my $0.02 worth.

Though I still think it would be worth asking - maybe I caught them on a bad day.

I know you have a while before you buy your stone, and if you find the stone and the setting with the same company, that is awesome.

My only suggestion is to have the stone sent to you loose. Just because of the whole photograph thing we talked about before. I thought I was sold on one of the stone''s I had sent in until I really got a good look at it. I think that one of the biggest advantages of buying online is that you can view the stone in your own home and not under some artifical lights that rarely occur in real life. It is so worth the extra shipping cost.

I can tell you I want the exact same kind of setting you want. But I have found, I am so picky about sapphires, that I will have to increase my budget on the stone. So when I do find mine, I am going to put in in a WG bezel set and get a setting with diamonds a year or so down the line. Plus for me, that will work better for my lifestyle and current job situation.

Just my 2 cents, I am just learning too.

Thank you guys. Ltlfirecracker, you are exactly right. while it is tempting to click click click and have my entire ring delivered, I am sure I will be happier if I choose my sapphire first. I absolutely love NYC. Maybe it will work out to go there in person with DH as another part of my b-day celebration, and choose the sapphire while there?!? The wheels are turning! Your idea about setting it simply and then changing the setting later is a good one. I might end up doing that too. Unfortunately even a simple white gold setting is quite expensive these days - several hundred dollars which I would hate to see go to waste - aagh! So I'm hoping I can get my forever sapphire and forever setting at once. we'll see.

Lostsapphire, thanks for that info. I will definitely need more details about their process whenever I am closer to ready to buy. It's not really that I want to go custom, but I want to make sure the setting is made to fit the stone just right (especially if it's a bezel). Looking forward to seeing your new ring!

Tandogmom,

Ask to talk to Steven Bliss or Susu. Ask them if they can custom the ring you want. They have done so much for me and they are wonderful to work with. Susu designed my pendant for me that I want to have made, but haven''t yet.

Linda

Linda, I will definitely do that when I am closer to ready to buy! Thanks again for the excellent recommendation, I feel much more confident now.

I am glad to help. I can''t wait to see what you come up with. I forgot to tell you, my hubby bought me a beautiful blue sapphire ring from them last year, for our anniversary. It is really beautiful. The padparadscha is still my favorite though. Shhhhhhh, don''t tell him.

Wow, Linda, you have a blue sapphire ring AND those beautiful pads! Wow! What a wonderful collection!!!

I can't wait to see what I come up with either. You can bet I will post pics although they will be crummy, as I am a horrible photog. DH can't wait til my b-day arrives so that I will not send him emails every day with links to sapphires :)

LOL, I bet he can''t. The Pads are my favorite though. They change in different lighting. I could play with them all day ha ha ha.

Linda

That would be great if you could go there in person. If that were an option for me, I would have done it long ago. I live in CA, so all these NY places are out of the question for me. As for the setting, a local jeweler showed me a bezed WG for about $300, no bad considering the final ring I want will be 1500 + and I just don''t have the money for a killer sapphire and setting.

I am going on vacation to Flordia, this weekend, so I am going to take the time off to continue looking at stones when I can. When I get back, I am probably going to ask a local place to have some stones for me to see. With all my looking, the stones this guy showed me still stick out the most.

I have seen a couple nice coushions on that sight, are their any specific ones you are thinking about??? Or still get getting ideas?
