I figured here is the best bet to check. I saw this dress the other day and thought it was gorgeous... any idea?

Or even, what style this is technically called?

could you give us more context for the photo? I know when I requested a dress search the women here found it by comparing backgrounds. I can''t see the skirt clearely enough to be sure, but it looks to be a mermaid or a sheath skirt with a sweetheart neckline.

Its a beautiful dress, I hope one of the women here can help you, good luck!

Sorry, I''m not too informed with all this stuff--here goes:

The skirt actually has a little slit in it over the left leg that goes to about the knee.
It had a small train in the back, that could be taken up and pinned? I guess beneath the back.
The back has sort of this criss cross corset? style that zigs down the back.
And even the straps actually tie at the top of the shoulder.

Is that what you mean by context?

Just a warning: that''s the sort of dress that might look fab on one body and absolutely HORRIBLE on another. In fact, I''m not so fond of the way it fits the lady in the picture in the ''girls'' area. So once you find out what it is, I would find a way to try it on before you get your heart set on it!

I''d agree that it''s probably her figure that makes it look so great. But I do really like the fabric of the skirt and the idea of a dress being more form fitted and not too puffy.

It''s probably just that I like the soft dainty look of the dress, I''m not fully shopping yet, but I just saw this and thought I should try to remember a general style I liked.

Thanks for the help!

I actually meant that it DOESN''T look that great on her. The skirt looks awesome (and I bet she''s got some serious spanx on under there), but the top looks like she''s wearing only a bra, and one that doesn''t fit right at that! The dress is beautiful, but not on her.

But that said, if it''s the silky flowing style that you are liking, then you''re in luck! That''s very much the fashion at the moment: goddess dresses, sheath dresses, etc.

When is your wedding?

It looks a lot like a Pnina Tornai dress. She has her how website and also sells excluisively at Kleinfelds. I can't find that dress on either site, but it looks a lot like another dress she has done.

WAIT! I FOUND IT!! here is the one it looks like- I love this dress!!

I first saw this dress on tv when a girl tried it on for her second dress. She didnt wind up buying this dress, but it looked fabulous on her. Her wedding dress was by Pnina Tornai as well. It was on "my celebrity wedding by the knot". The bride wanted a wedding similar to Christina Aguilera.

Thanks so much Golden! I like the dress, although I can''t say I''d actually wear this exact one. But I definitely like a lot of aspects of it. Particularly the skirt and corset back.

Hi IndependentGal, we are thinking 2009... but we aren''t engaged yet. I know it''s happening soon but I usually try not to think about the wedding too much because I think it''ll just stress me out more to plan it out while not being officially engaged. I just saw the dress and couldn''t resist since I''ve truly never seen anything like it.
I sorta see what you mean about the top and I don''t think I''d want something quite so low cut, but it''s refreshing to see something so different!
