does this custom setting price sound right to you

Hi all,

I am getting a 1.5 carat RB (super ideal) center stone. I was wanting a custom pave setting that is a little bit complicated and was quoted about 3100 for the setting - about 1 carat of branded melee ranging between 1/4 pt to 2 points in platinum. Does this sound right to you? It is a split shank but the pave won''t go all the way around.

I recently had two rings made in plat, one with approx. 70 points of pave melee and the other a three-stone mounting that has two trillions of .75 tcw.

The pave design was around the price you were quoted, and it was of less tcw than yours is to be (also, while the melee was of high quality, it was not branded); the price for the three-stone mount of trillions was $5k.

So, from my experience (with one jeweler in So. Cal and the other in Northern Cal -- I think that sounds like a competitive price.

i have also shopped around for a complicated custom micropave setting in NYC. it sounds competitive to me also.
