So, yesterday myself and my MoH went dress shopping, and the place actually let us take pictures. I didn''t bring my camera, but I will when I go back to the salon. So, what do you ladies think?

This first one is by Winnie Couture, and is my favorite so far. However, I am not sure about all the beeding around the midsection:

sorry for the giant pic... here's more. The dress is not in my size, so the bust is a bit funny. I would need a bigger size.

Sonia Cholette gown.

MoB dress that would make a perfect wedding dress for me but it doesn''t come in white

. Since my wedding colors are Chocolate/pink, MoH could potentially wear this one

Wow I love the maggie sottero!

I actually really like the Sonia Cholette dress. I think it''s pretty and unique without being weird. I hope that makes sense... (I''m not very traditional) Honestly they all looked pretty, that one just caught my eye.

CR, that one caught my eye too. I love that it''s pink!

Do you guys think wearing ballet slippers or something similar to my wedding would be weird? I really, really don''t think I''ll be able to last a whole day in heels

. Any shoe suggestions would be welcome :)

I don''t think wearing ballet slippers or flats are weird. I think you should be comfortable.

I really like the Maggie Sottero. I love that warm, champagne color.

Me too! I like the Winnie Couture but it seems very traditional in a lot of ways.

And totally go for ballet flats/slippers whatever! You should totally be comfortable on the day! And there are tons of cute ones out there right now!

ETA: I like the Maggie Sottero but I can't figure out what that thing is on the shoulders. It's turning me off...

Pity the last one doesn''t come in white-I think it''s gorgeous. Personally, I wouldn''t be 100% sure on the others, I think for your amazing figure you can definitely do better than those couple of dresses.

Ditto. The last one is my favorite.... so I''d keep shopping.

Ooh I like the mystery one with the feathery bottom!

Also thought I''d point out that the beading on the Winnie seems to be highlighting the crotchal region. Like a leaf or something. Sorry! If I''m the only one that sees it please disregard.

I think ballet flats would be awesome!

I like the Sonia Cholette one the best....but I still think you should keep shopping....

My first dress was similar in cut to that one, and I felt SOOOO self conscious about the belly area, since it was so tight around there it hid NOTHING. I think you can find dresses that will flatter your figure more!!

There are TONS more designers out there for around the same price range....Marisa and Watters are 2 of my favorites.

Hahahaha! I noticed that too, but was thinking no one else would. I guess #1 is out.

MoH and I were so devastated that the MoB dress didn''t come in white! It was almost exactly what I was looking for. I love the tulle that sticks out on the bottom.... I picture a white dress, with the pink tulle sticking out... ti would be awesome!

I will definitely keep looking. I didn''t feel like any of those were "the one", but I loved the salon. The saleslady was super nice and helpful, and they allowed pictures! They should be getting more dresses in April, so I will definitely be back there.

Sidenote, the saleslady mentioned that she was trying to get her bf to go ring shopping with her, and I, of course, told her about PS

karasue91, thanks for the reply, I will definitely look at those designers.

The Sonia Cholette looks lovely as well.

I also feel the same about the first one ... if it didn''t have that "leaf" action going on, the beading is quite nice.

Who makes the MOH dress you like so much?
I agree that none of those are "the dress" and good luck with your looking. I am glad you found a good salon, it makes things MUCH easier.

The MoH dress is made by Jovani, and is modeled after a wedding dress. I have never heard of that company before, but I''ll try to find their website.

At firs I thought, go with the Winnie Couture. But after looking at it, the beading is kind of strange like you mentioned. I don''t think I like it on you. Are you going to be trying on other gowns as well? My suggestion is to try more on until you find the one that you see nothing wrong with.

Thanks brazen! I''m really loving the MoB dress

!

I have tried on the 2nd Maggie, and it sat very well on me. I just didn''t feel like it was the "the one" but I love that style, and the tie up corset back is wonderful! I guess I''ll have to keep looking.

I really like all of the dresses you picked. I guess the Sonia Cholette and the Maggie are my favorites, but you may, as others suggested, want to look at other styles/dresses/whatever.

On the ballet flats question: You have to be careful when it comes to flats. They can be comfy for a while, but long term, they can put a LOT of stress on your arches and such. If you opt for flats for the whole day, make sure that they have plenty of support in them or you could end up with your feet hurting just as badly as they would be hurting in heels. I have several pair of flats that I wear to teach in all day that are bearable ONLY because they have plenty of support. My other flats get super uncomfortable after about 3 hours, so I got a set of Birkenstock inserts to slide in them to make them functional.

If you''re referring to wearing real ballet slippers, I would caution against it. It would probably look cute, but I still wouldn''t go that route. Real ballet shoes themselves are NOT good if you plan to be on your feet all day. Yeah, they are comfy for longing in or dancing in, but keep in mind that most ballet dancers dance on floors made specifically for dance/ballet slippers. You can REALLY feel how hard the floor is if you walk around on normal flooring for any length of time in them. I personally don''t like walking in them on normal flooring period. I do have a friend who used them for hers, but she had a pretty short ceremony and a church reception with no dancing or anything. It didn''t last very long, and there was no need to walk around a good deal, so it worked for her, but for most receptions, I''d say it''s a no go.

Fancy, thanks so much for the tips! I definitely have a bit more to consider re shoes

Ladies, thank you all so much for your honest opinions, they are much appreciated

Have you looked at Anjolique at all? I tried on several of their gowns that had similar shapes/styles as what you've shown so far. I don't know if anyone carries them near you, but maybe worth a look? http://www.anjolique.com/

ETA: I tried on lots of Maggie dresses, and in general I liked the Anjolique better for fit/fabric. At least two of the anjoliques I tried had a built-in corset inside. It sucks you up and inn, and then the zipper covers it all up.

Hi,

All of those dresses are pretty, but I definitely think you have the body for a FANTASTIC dress, so I also say to keep looking!

I can''t wait to hear how your visit to Kleinfeld''s goes...I love that "Say Yes to the Dress" show featuring their store!
