Hi Ladies!

I have not started dress hunting yet, but I have been thinking about it and I am getting nervous. I (currently) and I am stressing currently, wear a size 18. I have been losing weight and sticking to the plan and have dropped 2 sizes already. My question is, if I go say in November to try on dresses, will anyplace, other than perhaps, David’s Bridal, have a dress that will actually "kinda" fit me?? Has anyone had this issue?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Also, does anyone know anything about Pronovias? My most favorite dresses are from there and I am so sad because I am thinking, I will never fit in one of those! Thanks in advance and sorry for the long-winded post!

Call a store that carries Pronovias or call Pronovias and ask them. Even if they don''t carry the size they may be able to get it in. Also, I ordered my dress in a size 10 and I currently wear a 2. The last few weeks have been very stressfull with work and I''ve lost another 5lbs I wasn''t planning to loose. I just had my dress altered and will probably have to have it taken in more at my next fitting. It shouldn''t be a problem. When you buy the dress, buy the size that you fit in then if they think it can be altered.

i don''t think it should be an issue, they could always alter it to your size if you lose more weight, my sister bought a dress that was twice her size and they altered it to fit, i would check on the alterations cost though, i''m sure different styles are more difficult to alter

I started dress shopping just recently. What I found was that the second hand stores were the place to go to find higher sized dresses. I wear an 8, but I had to try on between 10 and 12. I also went to David''s bridal, and surprisingly they had a really great selection in all sizes. When I went to more traditional salons, all the samples were size 8 or 10 as the sample size. But these places have really great sales people that help to pin the dress around you so that you can see how it will fit you when you order your size. I would definitely start trying on dresses even though you are losing weight. That way you can narrow down what you like and don''t like.

I agree with the others, if you like a designer I''d say go try them out. Everything can be altered. Happy hunting!
