Alright, here we go! Dress shopping was a TOTAL BLAST! Literally, it was so much fun. My best friend (MOH) went with me and she was great. We went to three bridal stores, and enjoyed the first one the most (the sales associate was great, and it''s wear I found my favorite dress of the day.) I''ve narrowed down to a general style - lace, and fairly "fitted." It''s very elegant, and very me. My favorite is the San Patrick Bahamas, by far!

Here it is, with veil/bouquet for the full effect.

The back/train...I adore it!

Sorry for the chest shot...but here is some detail of the lace/beading.

And another of the train.

And one more from the front

Ok this is my #2 from the day...it has the lace bodice, but a really fluffy tulle train. It''s mermaid-style, which you can sort of see in this pic. I have two big concerns with this dress - first, I have heard that mermaid dresses are impossible to sit in. I want to be able to eat and relax! Second, you can''t see it in this pic, and my best friend couldn''t see it where she was sitting, but I can see a small line where the train joins the bodice, and it was driving me crazy!

Ooooh I know nothing of the comfort factor but I like the second one much better on you! It is romantic and beautiful and accentuates your figure a touch more. The first one is very nice, but just very nice and makes you look a bit stiff and straight-bodied from the front. The back of the first does look beautiful, and of course a properly fitted version in your size might look a little better than the clipped-on sample dress.

If you don't like the second enough or are worried about the comfort factor, then try on more. And make sure to walk and sit down in all of them.

My dress was quite sitable, but walking around was a pain. The train kept coming down and made it difficult to walk in - I wish I had been more aggressive about getting a sturdier bustle put in but alas... a small regret!

OK and just for fun, here are a couple more. This is similar to the mermaid above, but less fitted. The ribbon is optional - the dress lady suggested a white one for the ceremony, and then a colored one for the reception.

And, here is one that everyone at the store said was their favorite on me. This is something I NEVER would have thought I would like. I don''t really feel like a bride in it, but I do feel beautiful in it. I just can''t decide on this one. And, I showed this to my FI online (I was playing around and casually said "hey- do you like this?") and he did not like it at all. He said he didn''t like the embroidery.

I love the 2nd one so far followed by the 1st one. Not too keen on the 3rd or 4th one.

Ok last one! This is one that I tried on without lace. It is super flattering, but it just didn''t "do it for me." I don''t really know what to say beyond that. I liked it, but I had no connection to it.

****OH and it''s really important for everyone to know that my wedding is an evening summer wedding...it''s at a country club with a wraparound patio and we want to incorporate lots of warmth, color, candlelight, etc....think cocktails on the patio....

...so, I don''t think a big ballroom dress is appropriate. Nothing too huge or ornate, since that''s not the feel of the wedding in general.

Opinions appreciated! I take constructive criticism well, I promise.****

Um. WOW. I love this one on you!

I am in LOVE with the first one, followed by the third one! I do not care for the mermaid style of the second one at all. But that is just my taste and opinion. Thank you for all the lacy eye candy! Keep us up to date and with lots of pictures!

You look beautiful in all of them, but I really love the first two. Glad you had so much fun!

They all look beautiful on you but I really like the second one. I wish you had more picks of it.

I love the shape of the 3rd one (the one everyone else liked). I like how dress #2 goes into the flowy bottom. I have a mermaid style and it's not that hard to sit in. It's not the most comfy to sit in, but I'm going to be on the dance floor after I scarf down my food so I don't really care!

#1 is really pretty and it looks like that is your favorite. I think it would be divine!

I love love love them all on you, but #1 by far is stunning on you!!!!!

I really like number 1

OK- When I saw you in #1- I thought it was the one you bought. It looks like you are comfortable in it, and like it was made for you! You are beautiful in all of them, but #1 gets my "#1" vote!!

You wouldn''t have posted 5 pics of #1 and only 1 of the rest if you didn''t totally love it. I think you found your dress!

Nope, I haven''t bought anything yet. I still want to go on 2-3 more shopping trips. I know I am starting early (wedding is 6/26/2010) but I probably won''t purchase anything until July or August. At least now I can walk into the next few bridal stores and tell them that I have narrowed down to fitted lace - and see what they come up with. That first dress gave me, oh, a 9-out-of-10 feeling - I felt incredible. I am wondering if I will find a 10-out-of-10, something that really makes me KNOW its THE dress.

So fun! You look great in all of them!

My preference is #1 and #3 - I actually thought the sheen on #4 came off kind of plastic-ish. It was definitely a great fit for your bod, but there was something about that material I don't love in the pictures.

#5 also looks great, but doesn't have that special something the lace ones did on you!

(Oh and just in case, I thought that #3 was the one with the sash)
