Hi ladies...
I went dress shopping for the first time this weekend. It was SOOO much fun! I''m kind of torn between 3 dresses at the moment...no pics of me in them, sorry, but here are links..any thoughts?

http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Fall/2009/Style-9960
http://www.jlmcouture.com/Tara-Keely/Bridal/Additional/Style-2863
http://www.seliayang.com/ (i can''t link to this one directly...it''s the alicia style with the belt from the natalie)

i''m going shopping again with a serious entourage in a couple of weeks. i wanted to go and see what i liked before all the opinions started flying so i just went with my mom this time. both of us like all three above.

They are all beautiful but my choice would be between the 1st and the 3rd. I dont know which one I like better!

Actually, I''m going to go with the 3rd dress!

For me, it''s also between 1 and 3, but I''m going to go for 1 as my favorite!

I LOVE the first one! It''s so pretty!

# 1!!!! It''s gorgeous.

Thanks everyone!

#1 was the first wedding gown I''ve ever put on! I was in absolute love with it the minute I saw it. I wasn''t sure if the fact that it was the first was the main reason why I loved it so much. It is sooo gorgeous in person too. just thinking about this dress now gives me butterflies. it was the one that everyone in the store liked best on me too. i''m obsessed with the hem...when it''s bustled, it''s gorgeous.

#2 was something I just tried on to try it but loved it on me. something about it made me feel very bridal. i think i''ve kind of eliminated it in my head but not 100% sure yet. loved the way the tiers move when i walked around.

#3 was exactly how i imagined myself looking on my wedding day. the belt is insanely beautiful on the dress, i wish there was a pic of them together to show you. my FI is expecting me to look exactly like that.

so hard!! i''m the type of person that when i need a dress for an event, i''ll buy 3 and return 2 the day after. i like to decide what i''m wearing that day. so, needless to say, buying a dress the year before is a bit challenging to me! so, your opinions are very much appreciated.

oh, and thanks for the clickable links. i''m technically challenged.

OMG NUMBER 3 IS STUNNING

All three are beautiful, you have great taste!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE #1! I think it looks very couture, but still very bridal. It is unique without being too "out there".

Good luck deciding!

The alvina valenta is gorgeous however in the past year of planning my wedding I have seen this dress and the older variations of it on a ton of brides. It is a truly gorgeous dress and looks amazing on. The thing that I think I would consider if this dress is a true contender is how I feel about it being very popular. My personal feeling is that I wanted guests to see me in a dress that I was pretty certian that they had never seen before.

The second dress is ok, how is the material? It doesn''t look as lux as the other two.

The third dress is beautiful but I don''t love the boddice and neckline.

It''s so hard to comment without seeing pictures of you in the dress however they are all beautiful choices. Have fun shopping!

LOVE #1!!!!

Thanks again for all your comments! It seems like you guys are split the same way I am. I think it''s safe to say that #2 is eliminated. I think I knew that before I even included the link.

emeraldlover1...good point. i don''t want to be a cookie cutter bride at all. i didn''t realize that this was such a popular dress. they told me it was part of the new collection. Something to think about. I do LOOOVE it though so it''s kind of a tough call. The selia yang dress is a lot prettier in person then on the website. the fabric is unreal. That one probably wouldn''t be as popular as the alvina valenta too.

i''m going to a few more places on 8/22...kleinfelds, priscilla of boston and back to selia yang (i went to the location that only had samples so I''ll go to the main salon which has a larger selection). hopefully i can make my decision then.

I love dress #3!

Let me clarify...it''s not cookie cutter, just a popular style. The fall 2009 collection I think was launched probably in Feb. 09. However, AV has two other dresses in their colection that are very simalar. For example: Here is the 9658: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Additional/Style-9658 The top is soo similar as well as the hem is just a little different with the lace. I guess its a signiture for them. Also, there is a Romona Keveza gown that has amost that has a very simlar hem as well as Lazarro. The dress will look so different on each individual that you should decide what is important to you. Do not let what I say sway your decision.

I''m going to be at POB on the 26th. It''s too bad you aren''t going that day! Depending on your budget the POB 4200 is my favorite. They didn''t have it in yet when I bought my dress and I really wanted to try it on but in the end I found something I liked better but I am just dying to see what it looks like on a real person.

thanks em1...i guess i''ll have to wait and see when i try it on again! maybe i''ll put on something else that day that just pushes these 2 dresses out of my thoughts!

so funny that you are going to pob the following week! i LOOOVE the pics of the 4200 too. it''s one of the one''s i''m dying to try. i have no idea how much that dress is though so budget is definitely a concern. if i try it on and can take a pic i''ll post for you!

Well I''m going for my last fitting. I''ll post pics after. The 4200 is $5500 and I can''t wait to see it.

I am also torn between #1 and #3, I think personally I would choose 3 first, but that is me. I still think 1 is stunning, just less my own style.

Thanks everyone...
my head is officially spinning and i''m dreaming of dresses! i really hope i''m able to make a decision next weekend!

Just wanted to comment that I am wearing a Selia Yang gown for my wedding-and I love it! I am so happy with it and I love that it''s not super common. The one you picked from her is beautiful! I also like #2, though!
