Okay so this is more exciting for me then anyone really but I felt like some self-indulgent fanfare :P but after many, many, many (did I mention many)dress I believe it was around 60 in total I seriously lost count I finally picked the one :), and I even had the momment (internally didn't want to cry in a store twice :P), Honey knows which one it is since she was there when I tried her on again the dress that is :P.

Now if you told me 6mths ago this is the dress I was going to get married in I would have laughed at you and said something along the lines of....HAHAHAHA yeah right nahahhha.

So I didn't want a puffy dress, I didn't want layers and I definitly didn't want a strapless however what did I end up with - a puffy dress, with layers and a strapless (though this is still debatable), but I did want silk so I guess I had one thing right :)

So low and behold the saga has come to the end so which one did I pick (should I mention still no pics of me in the dress, placing the order tommorrow pics may follow considering the sample is in gold and I may still end up ordering from Melbourne :P)

If you want to see the other contendors and my original inspiration pics of what I wanted you can find them here

I did have my heart set on the Eugenia 3512 which sadly was untainable (I really hope a PSer gets married in it one day I would love to see IRL photo's) but I do have to say this one has stolen a new place in my heart - it just feels right :)

I also want to say thank you to all the wonderful ladies that have helped me in this search on and off site I would mention names but I will forget someone inadvertently and not mean to so MASSIVE *HUGS* to you all :)

Re-Introducing the.... Clarrisa :)

Now the next question to add straps and lower the back or not.....input welcome

Yay! Congratulations Deelight! That''s so exciting. I''m glad you chose the Clarissa in the end. It''s beautiful.

I would go with no straps, but that''s just me -- mainly because I think the dress is so lovely as is.

Congrats again!

Yay, yay, yay! That is very exciting!

It is beautiful dress.

Yay Dee!!!!!!! I''m glad you found ''the'' dress finally!!!!! I''ve been following the dress saga for quite some time, and am glad to see the much anticipated end!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!

Gorgeous dress!!! Can''t wait to see pics of you in it!!

congratulations! That is a beautiful dress and I''m sure you look smashing in it!

Congratulations!

I would leave that dress strapless. I think leaving the top half simple will complement that dramatic skirt.

Yay! That was my favourite of them all! So happy you found the dress! I bet you look absolutely stunning in it - can''t wait to see pics of you in it.

P.S.: Are you going to add lace sleeves to the dress? I like it as it is, but I think the sleeves would look beautiful too.

Yay Dee!! I''m so happy for you! It''s beautiful!

JMHO, but I don''t think straps would do the dress justice!

wow DEE!! What a fabulous dress!!! I love it! I wish I wasn''t so petite so I could wear fuller dresses!

excellent news dee

Congrats!!! So exciting!

gorgeous!!

:) I am still torn on straps versus strapless - funnily enough my sister who was very anti-strapless intially (her theory is unless your a size 6 which is a US size 2 strapless looks bleugh mind you I think a well fitted strapless looks beautiful on a lot of girls of all sizes) was all for the strapless as according to her and the bridal SA''s I have lovely collarbones and shoulder lines. She did however see my mock up and thinks the dress can work either way she did however say don''t change the puffiness or the flower she thinks they are perfect just the way it is.

My con''s for the strapless are: every single friend has had a strapless dress and while beautiful it is such a popular style I kinda wanted to be different yahno?
- Not sure how FI will feel about a strapless dress either but I think he won''t care on the other hand as long as I say yes :).
- I didn''t want a strapless dress now I am not a 100% sure

My Pro''s for the strapless are: I know it looks good however the ladies in the bridal store here have said that they have done the clarrisa with straps and that it looks good doesn''t take away from the dress
- It''s a little different
- Cheaper in alterations

The straps if I add them will be in the same silk and the dress will have a lower V-back and beading to match the bodice

The good news I don''t have to decide this until alterations

mscushion, bobbin, princessplease, Luckyeshe, Bella_mezzo, LtlFirecracker, kama_s, sunnyd, jjc, D&T, ImpatientOne, MonkeyPants, Blackpaw, Miya03, jcrow Thank you ladies so much for taking the time to comment and offer opinions I really appreciate it :)

So because I am the most indecsive person I know I am adding some images of my shoulder line (2 in the really bad 1st failed attempt at a wedding dress and 1 in a badly suited strapless bridal dress) so taking that into condiseration I guess but it gives an idea of my shoulders and also the mock up with straps - GAH I wish I wasn''t so indecisive LOL. Slightly amused that I am posting pictures of my shoulders LOL.

So waiting for the two bridal stores to get back on a few things for me and placing the order :) YAY.

And also Clarrissa with mocked up straps

Im going to say no straps, from a purely aesthetic point of view. The detail of the dress is all at the bottom, if you add straps i think it would confuse the look of it...

i dont know if that makes sense?

i actually really love how it looks with the straps on but im just biased as i aslo had simular sleeves on my wedding dress!

Blackpaw It does make sense...I think you speak the same language as I do LOL :), I am still undecided I can see points of both, I hate making these decisions :P.

Rock Your Socks Have you posted pics of your dress I would love to see it :), I forgot to mention I will be doing a deeper sweetheart as well - thanks for your vote :).

gwendolyn Your such a sweetie, I just saw that msg and now have the biggest smile on my face :) thanks for sending it :). Your right that dress in the pic is a gold colour and when I place the order that will be the colour of the dress I post - however IRL the colour is deeper, my dress (the one I will order) will be silk white, so it is not a bright white but it is still white (gosh I make lots of sense :P). I hope I look amazing honestly I would settle for pretty good not ugly even :P.

I should mention (if it this makes any difference to the sleeves/not sleeves) my sister (who also happens to be a hairdresser) and is doing my hair has decided on a side swept style with curls falling down on one shoulder which is incidently what the SA in the bridal store suggested. I am also pretty sure I will be wearing a locket (most likely platnium) on the day. My mum passed away when I was a teen and that would be my way of having her close to me on that day without being morbid, now to find a beautiful vintage looking locket or getting one made.

FMIL thinks I should remove the tulle down the bottom layer, my sister thinks it should stay - me I think I am on side with sis I think it breaks up the look of the layers however also thinking of swaping it out from some organza (mmmmm shimmmer) however FMIL had a really brill idea of just ordering the material and getting the straps on and if I don''t like them well then take them off - I think this could be a plan as well.

I feel so relieved to have picked a dress finally now I feel like I can plan all the millions of other things :).

ooh! that''s so pretty! congratulations on picking your dress

Ooh, love the idea of the organza! Definitely keep something in there, either organza or tulle. That''s one of the loveliest bit of the dress, where it peeks through at the bottom! Love it!! And yes, am still lovin'' the look of sleeves on that dress. Dee sweets, you are going to be a KNOCKOUT!!!!

.

Delster I surprised even myself really, never in a million years would I have thought this would be the case but that dress just kept growing and growing on me :) funny how they do that.

*mini update* the bridal store in my state is going to match the ultra low price from Melbourne though intially they said they wouldn''t, only catch is I have to pay for %50 in the next 24hrs - which is okay with me cause I figured that what I had to do in the first place so tomorrow Dee is off to buy her dress :).

YAY for a bargin - FI will be happy I came in WAY under his budget and WAY WAY under mine even with alterations

Thanks Hun :), FI paid the deposit yesterday and tommorrow I am going in for measurements and ordering - will make sure to take pics however the same is in gold and too big but you guys will get the idea :) YAY it is all real now :)

I love it! It's different and unique and very romantic.

I definitely wouldn't add straps - I think it would take away from the design, IMO.

I'd love to see pictures of you in it!
