Hi guys!

We''re taking our e-pics this weekend. Originally, I wasn''t going to do this, but it is just part of my photographer''s package.

What should we wear!?. We''re going to a park and might walk across the street to take some at the beach too. We''re both pretty laid back and casual and we''re bring our dog

Any suggestions on what we should wear?. The photographer asked us to bring three different outfits.

M~

Casual (jeans, etc.)

Dressy

Funky

I was thinking jeans and white top...he can wear jeans and a light polo...

Then a maybe a cute summer dress and he can wear ....???

Funky? what would be considered funky? like jeans with a long top? or like cute little shorts?....I don''t see my FI wearing anything funky...haha

M~

Something you feel FABULOUS in, for starters! We all have our favorite outfits, even the guys. Since you say you're both pretty relaxed, and your wedding pics will be plenty dressy/fancy, I would suggest....

1) Relaxed dressy...kind of like what you might wear as a guest to a daytime summer wedding. Him - slacks/khakis and a button-down shirt. Bring a tie and you can do pics w/ and w/o it. You - pretty dress or blouse/skirt combo with strappy shoes.

2) BBQ at the park with your friends - this is where your jeans and white shirt would work well. Put him in something similar. A white button-down shirt worn over a camisole-style top would be great for the beach shots. Think clean, crisp, fresh.... white or pastels. It can give your photos a nice airy feeling. If not jeans for you, maybe a pair of crops?

3) Something fun and colorful that will really pop against the greenery of the park.

ETA: Oh, and maybe a fun colored scarf or something for your dog! :)

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I''m thinking jeans is definitely one outfit...plus I love how he looks in jeans

Then I have a cute white linen skirt, I can pair that up with a cute top and sandals....he could wear khaki pants and a dressier shirt.

Then a more casual summer dress, maybe he can wear khaki shorts and a polo or something.

I''m excited!!! I''ve never had any sort of picture session, so this will be good practice for the wedding!!!!!

Thanks again guys!

make sure the colors and patterns (well, I wouldn''t wear patterns) are neutral so people are looking at you guys not what you are wearing and also to avoid your pics looking "so 2007!" Have fun and post them when they are done!

I agree with Tacori about not wearing prints. I like the idea of a linen skirt, too especially if you are going to have some taken at the beach. If he looks hot in jeans then he could wear a sort of loose button-up shirt - maybe partly unbuttoned to look sexy

in the pics. You could also do barefoot on the beach.

i think we had 3 outfits.

outfit one: me - jeans & golden sleeveless cowl neck shirt. him - jeans and dark brown shirt.
outfit two: me - jeans & black tight black sweater with faux white collared shirt underneath. him - jeans and white polo.
outfit three: me - black plain cocktail type dress with dressy black heels. him - black suit. no tie.

i'm SO happy we have dressy pics. i think those are more timeless. didn't realize that until we got the proofs back.

here's a thread with my pics. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/our-engagement-pics.45512/

I will definitely post some!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The photographer said no prints or stuff with writings on it.

I do have a cute summerish dress that has prints, but I will bring it as back up to see what she thinks. Mostly I will try to stay with neutrals and solid colors though.

If it was up to me we would be rolling in the sand taking pictures and getting in the water!

...hahaha, just for fun....I definitely don't think he would be up for that, hehe. Who knows, maybe I'll give him some Sangria prior to meeting the photographer...haha

M~

Thanks JCrow!!! Those pictures are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I just don''t know about getting too dressed up since we will be at the park and beach most likely. We''ll bring something dressy though...maybe there is some spot were we can take pictures in dressier outfits

Mandarine, I mentioned "funky" only because you seem to have a unique sense of style? But yes, whatever you feel you look best in would be great. I agree also that no loud colors/patterns because it will take away from the two of you. And I''m in agreement with jcrow that cocktail type attire seems to look timelessly elegant so I''d save time for those photos...s/he''s offering B&W options, yes? Because nothing looks more wonderful to me than cocktail type attired B&W photos! In a silver frame. Fantastic!

i had the same issue, i am not that thrilled with my figure, and i''m more of a jeans & t-shirt gal-
we were having ours done outside, and i didn''t want to wear jeans because i''m not that comfortable in them.

i went to J Jill and got some help from them- i did get a plain blue top but it had a bit of detailing on it, with white capris and some casual sandals-
he wore dockers and a blue button down

we don''t have the pics back yet, but we''ll see how they turn out.

best advice is- wear something that is YOU, i was trying so hard to be stylish/trendy when that is just not me. i finally went with what i felt good in, so hopefully that will come thru in the photos

You are complete right labbie! Me and FI are very laid back, casual, outdoor people. We can pull off getting all "dressed up" but is not "us" so much

That was great advice!!! Thanks!

I agree with pick clothes you feel fabulous in. The color that people say , Boy you look great today. That gorgeous feeling comes across in the pictures. Ask the photographer if white is a good color. Have fun. I would bring several choices, easy to bring extras-- and there could be an issue with something you don't anticipate--it doesn't drape well, etc.

My brother was "into" photography at the time and took some engagement pics of us. They were sooooo bad I think we just burned them for posterities sake! At that time people in my "socioeconomic level " didn't pay a photographer for engagement pictures.

Edited to add this from a website on engagement photography, the second quote was a blog where a new photographer didn't like the outcome of his pics and another photographer was giving advice:

Couple must avoid to wear black and white dress.

"Bad clothing choices here too.Never shoot anyone in white if you dont have to"

well, we''re back from our session!!!

We had a blast!!!! we didn''t change that much because it was so hot out and we just kind of wanted to get all the shots so we could get back in the car! hehe.

The dog was great too, he''s so cute!!!.

Fort, we wore jeans and he wore a light cream Polo and I had a cute strapless white top and sandals. Then he changed into khaki pants and I went for a summer dress and had to put my hair up! It was like 90F out there!.

I think she got tons of pictures so a couple have to turn out well!

She will send me the CD in a couple of weeks, I can''t wait to see them and share some with you!!!!!!!!!. It was fun to play model! hehe.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
