Hi,
I have been trying to find some earrings for my niece. She''s turning 11 and I don''t want anything fancy or expensive, just fun earrings for girls. I know that when I was little, there seemed to be plenty of kids jewelry but now, everything seems to be much more adult. Anyone know of sites or stores?

Thanks!

What is your budget?

Dixie,

I just did a quick google search and found this website. Looks like they have some fun and inexpensive earrings for kids.

Some more cute earrings on at this website.

This website looks promising as well.

Good luck with your search ... I am sure that your niece will be thrilled with her new earrings.

If you can't find anything suitable for a child, why not go for something simple, such as drop earrings or studs with her birth stones in it?

Forever 21 would maybe have some stuff for her. The ones posted online look a little mature to me, but in the store they have hundreds of earrings. Some are little bright colored balls (about the size of a pearl but bright pink and plastic) or little hearts/flowers. It might be good for her because they wouldn''t be too adult but she also could feel a little grown up. Most of their earrings are between $3 and $10.

Tacori, I think I'd like to stay under $15/pair if I can. I'd like to get her a few pair, more like everyday earrings than fancier ones.

Sparkalicious, thanks for the sites! I'll check them out right away.

Sparkster, I might do that if I can't find anything but she has some nicer earrings so I just wanted to give her something more fun and more geared towards younger girls. Thanks for the idea.

OUpeargirl, I will try Forever 21. I'll have to see where the nearest store to me is. I feel like there's one in the nearby mall but I'm not sure. Thanks!

ETA: Wow, after looking at some sites, I guess my budget is pretty low. I had no idea earrings for girls were so expensive. I don't pay that much for most of mine. Guess I better keep searching or head to the mall. I think I also might check out the Disney store.

Have you looked on Etsy? Lots of cute stuff!

hi! if you are close to a tj maxx, they have a section in their jewelry case that has jewelry geared to children. their stuff is usually very inexpensive. it is hit or miss on what will be there but you could get lucky. my local store always has clearance things in the case also. i think you could find ss or 14k in your price. i have seen lady bugs, flowers, stars, frogs, etc. there. hth.

Claires or Icing has TONS of stuff that she would like.

Dixie, I got my daughter 10k white gold balls and hoops at Walmart and I think they were in the $10-15 range. That is a great place to look if you have one nearby.

I would look at Target too.

Check out Something Silver (kids collection). They have some unique, trendy and quirky things. They do carry stuff specifically for kids but some of the other stuff would be appropriate too.

Something Silver (all earrings)... they have some cute dragonflies, stars, etc.

Target is a good suggestion... they have a lot of gift boxed children's earrings for around $15.

I am laughing. There are obviously no mothers of teens here. You should go to Claire''s. There is one in every mall. At least there is one in every mall (bar none) between Connecticut and Virginia. I would bet the chain is nation wide. Claire''s has extremely inexpensive jewelry for teens (and younger) that the girls drool over. The stores are packed with girls at all times when schools are not in session and at some times when they are. They also own another chain that often has a shop in the same mall that has a Claire''s. It is called Icings or something. I will go look it up. They may, also, sell on-line.

They do have a lot... and sets also- like a card of 3 different sized hoops or 6 different studs, etc. They often have a "buy one, get one half off" sale going on. Most of them are nickle plated posts or something- so they''re cheap and popular. They have a small section of silver and gold plate and sensitive ears things.

You gals are all wonderful!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have some shopping to do now!
