I still love the stone.

Sorry, I do not like the setting. I dislike the 2 little sidestones. [ETA: also the triangular squat prongs] I feel they might distract the eye from the centrestone and create overall the look of a small 3 stone ring. Just my 0.02.

I also like slightly larger proportions on the sides......

I would suggest having GOG place the center diamond between the proposed traps to make sure you love the proportion ( if that''s possible)

This is really personal taste. If the ring shown has a 7x5 stone in the center, and you have chosen a stone with approximately those dimensions, then your ring should look close to the proportions of the ring in the photo and I think it will be lovely and just right.

Steel would prefer smaller/no sidestones (?) to avoid a 3-stone look while Rockdiamond might prefer larger sidestones, fully embracing the 3-stone look.

My earlier concern (that the photo was of a much larger center stone, and thus the proportions could be different for a smaller center stone) has been addressed. So now it is just personal preference!

I would prefer anything that was not that setting!

I would choose larger more like equal sized stones if you want a three stone look, or fancy shapes like tapered bags etc to highlight the centre stone or even better to highlight that stunner; I would have no side stones and either use a plain band, pave or channel set etc to bling up the more plain setting.

But cara is right, This is just an opinion. What you like counts, not what I like.

Here is an update on the diamond EM1 suggested. I have received the IS image and have attached it to the post. A picture of the diamond can be seen HERE I have been told I will receive the Sarin report later today, and will update with the crown height at that time.

Pacioli! I am so excited for you to get this stone. I imagine that in person it will knock your socks off! I''m glad that you were able to get more images to help make your final decision.

Oh...I should add that I have a tacori setting as well. I would shop arround for some prices. Mark from ERD can get them too. He got my stone but I didn''t realize at the time that he could get Tacori and I wish I did cause I feel like we paid a premium for it. Anyway, i am very happy with my setting that has some similar features to the one you picked out.

I do love it but personally feel that the EC you picked is so nice on its own that it doesn''t need side stones. However the 3 stone EC look is totally personal pref.. Do me a huge favor...please! Please post pics when it is finished. I''m too excited to see the end result.

I would also like to mention that if you are sold on that setting I would ask your vendor (GOG if decided) to have tacori use double prongs instead of the triangular ones...I don''t like those at all. They will totally hide the excelent cut corners of your stone.
