Guys don't forget about the eclipse tonight!! 10:01 Last one until 2010

I almost missed it due to having my eyes glued to American Idol instead! DH and I just watched it here, we had a great view since the skies were clear tonight. It was cool!!!

Was anyone able to get pics?
We tried but they didn''t turn out well

It was totally cloudy where I am so I didn''t get to see much of it. I hope everyone else had better views! I only with I could see them try to shoot the satellite down. That happens at 10:30pm tonight for those of you who have views of the pacific

DH is outside right now with a telescope and camera, trying to get good shots. I''ll post if he gets some. It''s too darn chilly for me though!

I missed the eclipse because it's too cloudy here...bummer. I can't wait to see some pictures.

So cool! Kinda reddish - DH pointed it out to me and I thought he was saying "LITTER CLIPS!" not lunar eclipse. Ha

We tried to watch it but it must have been cloudy b/c we never really saw it eclipse.

No luck where we lived either. Rats.

Who asked for pics?

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

I was outside trying to get a good view since it was so cloudy but I never quite got to see it as well as you captured it.

Oh, that''s nice, Tickintime! I got a few, not so great shots.

Great photos.

Thanks for the pictures guys!

In central IL is was very clear indeed. I forgot how long they take. Stepping out into the frigid cold every fifteen minutes. Looked like it hadn''t moved.
But I had to time my viewing during AI commercials.
I thought it would get red-der. It was still cool though.

too cloudy here in the santa cruz mountains in california.....thanks for the pictures!!!!!!!

I thought the coolest thing about it was how much more spherical the moon looked during the eclipse! That sounds silly, but when you look at the full moon ordinarily, it almost looks flat, I suppose because of the high contrast of the light against the dark sky. But during the eclipse, with the shadows and the variations of the muted light across the surface, it had a much greater 3D look to it. Very cool.

It didn''t look red-ish to us, either Starset...must be something to do with viewing it from the midwest?

Thanks for the pics, tickintime!

I didn''t get to see the eclipse this time because of cloud cover. But a few years ago I saw the coolest one ever. It was the eve before my best friend''s wedding in Key West. We had done all the rehersal type things and were chilling in her room which had a balcony overlooking the ocean. We had no idea there was supposed to be an eclipse so we wound up just sitting there for hours sipping wine in the tropical breezes watching the moon fade away. It was one of those truly surreal moments with the red moon, and the ocean lapping below us all framed by palm trees with my friend on her wedding eve. I tried to take pictures but none of them captured the moment so I just remember it my head.
