New poster here. I am a long time lurker and want to thank you all for your expertise and advice. I have made a few purchases after finding this site and am thrilled to have this resource available. Yeah for being an informed consumer finally.

So now my question, where do a find a 5 stone shared prong band with electric blue sapphires? I do know about signed pieces/facets and can''t tell what color the sapphires are. Anyone have a band with sapphires from Facets? What color are they? Is this something I should have made custom to have more of a say on the color of the stones? My budget is about $1200. Any advice is appreciated.

If you are very particular about getting that specific electric blue shade, I''d suggest getting Wink of www.winkjones.com to source them for you. He found a matching pair for me a few years back.

Most ready made bands will not have sapphires of THAT great a quality. That said, with the price of metals today, I don''t think you''ll get a 5 stone electric blue sapphire band for $1200 unless the stones and band are super small. It''s the labour and metal that is the bulk of the cost.

Chrono,

Thanks for your reply. I have thought about contacting Wink, but was hoping to get something non-custom to stay within the budget. Yes, $1200 is not much, but I''m looking for a band with 3-3.5mm stones, so not too big. Perhaps I should just stick we a round sapphire three stone. I already have a sapphire three stone with a royal blue emerald cut center. (Yes, I need to post pics.) I really want to get my hands on something electric blue. Tips as to how to accomplish this with a smaller budget appreciated. Maybe a small round diamond with sapphire sides. This is for a RHR by the way. Thanks for any input.

I got gorgeous sapphire earrings from Michael Edget at the Gem Shoppe. I know you''re not keen on custom but it might just be worth dropping him an email. I gave him my budget and asked him to find sapphires of the colour I wanted withing that. It wasn''t an especially large budget and he really did work miracles with it! The stones he found for me are gorgeous and he used catalogue mountings to keep the cost down on the setting. Overall look is very nice! Michael is really nice to work with too.

Good luck finding your band.

Ooh, I just rememberd about this one too. I found the photo on the Diamonds by Lauren Website a few weeks ago and wanted it!

It''s a little over budget, but maybe they could make you an all sapphire version for a little less? I''m a huge DBL fan and I''m sure they''d work with your budget.

I love sapphires!

Thanks for your reply Mrs. Mitchell. Great ideas. I do like that band from DBL and have to talk DH into increasing the budget a little bit. He thinks it $1000, I say $1200, and this is $1350. But after seeing the Ritani sapphire ring recently posted, I''m having second thoughts about a band. I thought a band would get me more bling for my buck, but I''m drawn to electric blue stones, so I''m not sure. I''ll keep everyone posted. Thanks again.
