Hello everyone!
I'm sharing my joyful news that I am engaged! My fiancé asked two days ago!
He was very overwhelmed picking a ring and he wanted me to be part of the entire process. I'm glad that I was, because the setting I had originally wanted for nearly one year ended up being 'not right' when we matched the diamond to the ring and tried it on my hand. I was worried that I'd end up settling just to finalize the process. But the salesgirl showed me several and then showed me a floral setting with a vine type of band. I put it on my hand and said "this is the one". Both boyfriend and salesgirl were shocked I could be so decisive after pining for a different setting for so long. But I love it. This setting is totally my style. It felt right as soon as I put it on.
This diamond- I wanted to buy online (more bang for your buck), but boyfriend just couldn't get past his fears of being sold a fake, and envisioned back and forth mailings. So we bought at a B&M. I was undecided between Princess, Assher, Radiant or Emerald. But once I saw the emerald in real life- that was my shape. I love the sleek lines of the steps. It's so visually interesting. I went for a warmer color partially to keep costs down. But also because I like having a diamond a little different- something that gives it distinction and personality.
And a month later the ring was ready to be picked up. Boyfriend couldn't wait- he proposed that night in our home.
So here is my forever ring!

oh yeah, also, I gave boyfriend a Movado watch as his engagement gift. I hope that he thinks of me and my love every time he puts it on.
