All week, I've been trying to read FH's actions to see when he would propose because 2 weeks ago, I was told about 1 week until the ring was complete. I was also trying not to ask questions (it was driving me nuts) because he was trying to surprise me.

The first suspicious action was that he brought home roasted duck after he had dinner at his parents house one night and told me that he picked it up on the way home but nothing was open except for a chinese place that only had duck. The reason that was suspicious was because my dad likes roasted duck from the chinese restaurants and when I went to see my mom the next day, she had boxes of chinese food. Of course, I kept quiet.

The day after the duck incident, FH called me (supposedly from work) to tell me they were working in his cubicle so he wouldn't be able to log into msn and chat with me all day. This was slightly believable so I wasn't sure. When he came home, he suggested that we should go see a show on Friday and that was when I really started to think that he was gonna do it this week.

So Friday rolled around and we went to see the show and all day I was hoping and hoping that he would do it and we get home and I'm sitting around complaining of my boredom and slowly beginning to think that it wasn't going to happen and I began to feel really disappointed so I decide to just go to sleep. Well FH and I have this little "tradition" everynight where I take my promise ring off and give it to him while I put lotion on and then after, he puts the ring back on my finger and gives a little speech (It's different every night). Well last night, I was pretty grumpy by that time and so I just put my ring on my side table and turned the light off. Then FH takes my hand and asks me if I still want to marry him and I grunt a grumpy yes. Then he slipped a ring on my finger and I was thinking: wait... he doesn't have my ring cuz I put it on the sidetable... I started crying and apologizing for being so grumpy. I was soo happy!! The light was still turned off so I couldn't see the ring and so FH was like you can look at it now so I turned the light on and OMG! It was soo beautiful.

I was admiring it for like an hour and we didn't get to sleep until 4am but this morning, I'm so excited that I woke up at 9! So it turned out all my suspicions were correct. The duck night was when he went to ask my parents. (That was interesting to hear about) and the day he didn't come on msn was the day he went to pick up the ring. I still can't believe we're officially engaged!!

So that's my story. My reaction surprised me because I thought I would swear or something. Didn't expect tears but it was so overwhelming! Thanks for reading!
