I''M MAKING ENGAGEMENT CHICKEN!

I really feel like he is going to do something by the end of the year, if not New Years, but just to give it some extra encouragement, I making the chicken! It''s actually perfect timing. He comes home tomorrow from 10 days out of the country, and he''ll be sick of steak for sure (that''s all they serve Argentina). I also went ahead and bought, put up, and decorated our Christmas tree as a surprise for him... He''ll love it! Hopefully he''ll love the chicken too!!!

Hey Crooked, if I am not mistaken, there is an actual recipie behind engagement chicken, right? If so, maybe you could post it on here so that some of us newer PS''ers could take a peek at it?

I made engagement chicken at one point!!! hahaha
I changed the recipe and it didn't exactly work as fast as I wanted to...but eventually he did propose!

I can also recommend Rachael Ray''s "You Won''t Be Single For Long" Vodka Cream Pasta... though he hasn''t proposed yet, he really likes this recipe! I also like to add shrimp to it. It also makes great leftovers.

Crooked Rock - Just wondering how your chicken dinner went...

My BF raves about my cooking every time I make him something, but he especially loves my baked goods. I made him blackberry cobbler this past summer with fresh blackberries picked at my parents'' home and he just about died and went to heaven. I may end up making "engagement pie" or something! LOL

Well.... I will start with saying that I followed the recipe to a T, thinking if I strayed it wouldn''t work...lol! My Chicken was just under 4 lbs, and I did cook it for about 10 mins longer, but that wasn''t enough!!! We actually cut into it and it was raw!!! LOL we just laughed and threw it back in the oven. In the meantime I had made a Baby Spinach salad with bacon crumles, blue cheese crumbles, and hard boiled egg, and my Mom''s special Pussywillow dressing (yes that is actually it''s name, and it is to die for!)

The chicken finally cooked and it was great! I will say that we cook about 4 nights a week, so it wasn''t a total treat, but I had never done a whole chicken before. Along with the salad I made sauteed veggies, that were fabulous!
Right before we were about to dig into our chicken he said..."oh I almost forgot!" And he stood up and asked me to close my eyes...He walked over and told me how much he loved me and had missed me while he was gone.... Then he .... gave me a necklace he had bought me down there... At first I was thinking ...Holy Sh** this chicken thing really works!.... lol! But then I came to my senses and I know that that would not be how he would propose. I have kinda told him that I would like for it to be a big deal considering all the time we have been together, and bc I know so many girls who hated their proposal. So I know he will make it fabulous!
