Janine,

ha! silly me, that''s probably what she meant. lots of brides make them. or get something like a birdcage to put cards in.

Did you mean boxes like what JCrow linked to, or a collection box for gift-cards at the reception? If it's the latter, what I've generally seen at weddings have been either some kind of medium-sized cardboard box decorated with wrapping paper, decoupage, fabric, etc, OR a non-box container, like a fancy looking birdcage, a mailbox, etc. I suspect that anything you find in stores/online is going to either a)over the top, or b) overpriced. I've seen wedding planners/shops that rent things like birdcages for that purpose, if a homemade decorated box doesn't appeal to you.

ETA: I'm too slow, got my answer posted while I was typing!

thanks girls!now just need to find a medium size cardboard box and some wedding wrapping paper..doesn''t sound too hard, even for a non-diy''er like myself!

Can you guys believe that one of the reception halls I checked out actually wanted to CHARGE me to use their cardboard box covered with wrapping paper? I don''t remember how much, but I just remember thinking, if this place is even trying to charge me for this, then who knows what else I''d get ripped off on. I can understand them charging for the bird cages or even the satin boxes, but IMO they are still wastes of money unless they are really spectacular and fitting with the decor. Every cardholder I''ve seen has been the same ol'' same ol'', and since I''m with janinegirly in thinking that even someone with no creative ability can cover a box with wrapping paper, I''d rather spend my money on something more unique.
