Well,
It''s been two days and he still hasn''t said anything about the ring. I don''t even think he noticed. Which is fine with me. but I certainly have been documenting anything he says on the topic, just in case. Thanks for the advice again.

I agree with the others who said to document every interaction with him.... he is still your boss and has input on your career. You need to be extra careful if you plan to stay there.

Generally speaking, I have found that my relationship with my boss is one of the most important factors in whether I am happy at work or not. See how this plays out... I also am utterly disgusted by the number of people I have seen in my 12 years who are either horrible at their work or completely inappropriate or both, who continue to have jobs, often because management is "afraid" to fire them. Disgraceful but a reality, I guess.
