What have you done, what do you still have to do. And what''s your timeline for getting it all done?

Sept 21 wedding.

I''ve got:

Venues all done.
But no menu picked out.
Our tasting is May 4th so we''ll chose them.
Have 1/2 payment to venue due June 21st. Remainder due to venue 2 weeks before wedding.
Contract signed sealed delivered.

Florist:
Chosen the florist and all the florals.
Must retrain myself from adding more to the order.
Paid 1/3 of the amount already.
Need to meet with her 30 days before wedding to finalize (and not expand order!) order, check on actual flower availability etc.
Payment due 2 weeks before wedding.
Contract signed sealed delivered.

DJ
Picked out.
Deposit amount covered half the fee.
He''s been MIA and is stressing me out.
John has been charged with tracking his a*se down.
Contract was signed sealed and delivered.

Day of Coordinator:
Met with her initially. Liked her.
Contract is signed sealed delivered.
Meet with her 3 weeks before wedding to give her all vendor information so she can coordinate the circus.

Cake
Cake tasting complete.
Deposit covered half of the fee for the cake.
Cake design chosen.
Flowers handled by florist-- already ordered.
Cake stand handled by DOC-- already ordered.

Dress and attire.
Dress on order.
Due to arrive around the 15th of June.
Have appointment with seamstress set up for 21st of June.
Have design ideas for re-doing top chosen already.
Bought shoes. Now have two pairs.
Need to order another veil. Will do next month, in May. It will be silk tulle.
Need to figure out jewelry, but need to wait till I have dress before I do this, I think.
John has his entire outfit already on order.

Attendants.
My MOH swears that on SUNDAY I will finally get her measurements so that I can order her dress.
Groomsman is moving to TN. It''s early to get his measurements. Will do so in June.

Decorative stuff...
Lanterns or Umbrellas. Must as MOH if she will handle all activities related to this. Praying she''ll say yes. I''ll order whatever she feels most comfortable designing and putting up.
Orange tablecloths. Requested qoute from vendor tonight, John is coordinating. Need to get swatches to see if "orange" or "cinammon" is the correct shade.

Persian Cookies. Need to re-clear with venue that I can have these brought in. And ask Uncles''s wife to coordinate since mom seems unmotivated.

Guest list and STDs.
Well. I THOUGHT Mom gave me a complete list the other night of the addresses. Turns out it''s only 30% complete.
John and I had a talk about how the guest list management is his job, and I asked him once again to PLEASE upload all the address we have so I can send these FREAKING STUPID STD''s out.

Invitations.
The ebay lady is a DREAM. She''s sending me a proof of the invite next week.
Need to figure out RSVP wording and menu stuff to get to her, but have to wait till after May tasting to do so.

Favors and Escort Cards.
My uncle''s wife is going to help with this. I found a vendor for th cards, need some ribbon and then I can just dump it in her lap. She''s been great.

Envelope container.
Uncle''s wife volunteered to handle this. I couldn''t care less. Am just happy SOMEONE other than ME is doing it

Registry.
Done.

Wedding Website.
Put John in charge it''s been 75% done for about a month now. Gonna have to ask him to complete it soon.

Beauty
Booked hair and makeup artist.
Need to arrange a trail for July sometime.
Went to dermatologist, got stuff, am using.
Going next weekend to try out new threader for eyebrows, etc.

Photography.
Booked photographers. Contract signed and complete.
Need to pin down engagement photo shoot date.
Have already chosen month (June) and lcoation.

Officiant and wedding license.
John''s uncle will perform ceremony.
Have already picked out all readings. Need to write vows.
Need to get his uncle registered with County to do our wedding.
John needs to research wedding license requirements etc, and deal with that.

Rehearsal Luncheon
Already sent pre-liminary research to John. It''s his ball to roll with now. I don''t care if we even have a luncheon.

Bridal Shower
Uncles wife will throw. I will organize. Mom will pay. Plotting is just beginning.

Other stuff.

* Need to purchase wedding insurance before mom goes in for surgery.

*chosen wedding bands. Need to figure out how to afford them.
20.gif

*Need to figure out where I can get my invite envelopes addressed without it costing more than 1.50 or so an envelope.

WHEW.

Okay. So that SHOULD be everything. But I know you guys will remind me other other things I''ve forgotten or overlooked or need to do...

35.gif

That''s quite a list! Reading your list of completes makes me nervous.

I'm gonna sort of copy your format, Gypsy, hope you don't mind

Date: October 4, '08

Venue
-Booked, all rentals (chairs/tables/etc.) included
-Need to select menu items and bar offerings (this is done ~one month ahead)

Photography
-Booked photographers in December (or January? I can't remember)
-Haven't decided whether we feel like paying for an engagement shoot.

Florist
-Not booked, but we'll be doing very minimal flowers (bouquets and boutonnieres only)
-Planning to get on this in May. Is that too late? Should I be rushing more?

DJ
-Booked and very responsive
-We're compiling a list of "must" and "must not" plays

Day of Coordinator
-Provided by venue automatically
-Haven't met her yet

Cake
-Haven't even touched it yet
-Planning to have a small one plus dessert table, since lots of our guests are more into pies/tarts/souffles
-I guess also planning to get this done in May? Maybe this month, actually...

Dress/Accessories
-Ordered and due sometime this month (before May 1)
-Haven't looked at shoes, well, at least not seriously. I'm waiting to see exactly how long my "custom" hem length is...
-I picked out the necklace I want and am hinting strongly enough to embarrass myself that I'd like it as a gift from FI on our wedding day.
-My something new will hopefully be said necklace
-My something old has been offered by my uncle
-My something borrowed is yet to be determined...
-My something blue will be my diamond/sapphire rhr

Attendants
-MOH is making her own dress, and I gave her full poetic license
-Groomsmen are clueless but super-pumped. When should I send them/FI to get measured??
-Flower girls have picked their dress styles, now we need to choose whether to make or buy them
-Ring bearer will probably be our dog. Tux outfit? I THINK SO!

Decor
-The ceremony area's gorgeous on its own. If we do anything, it'll be little lanterns on the ends of the rows.
-Centerpiece ideas are in flux. Probably clusters of lanterns in different sizes. I'm searching eBay and theKnot's marketplace for a good deal on packs of 'em.
-Hoping to start getting these pieces in June, and have everything together and planned by end of August.

Guest list and Stationery
-Guest list was "finalized" in January. You know, except for FMIL's 8 additions last week after I sent her the guest list for spell-checking. "Oh, Musey, I thought you already had John and Mary Johnson. They were our best man and maid of honor, you know."
-Save-the-dates went out in February, and have been trickling out for the additions since then.
-Custom invitation process was initiated this week. Final order will be placed on 4/15 or so, and they will arrive 5 weeks later. Plan to go out in early-to-mid-June due to the number of OOT guests.

Favors and Escort Cards
-We're either doing plantable favors (um, LOVE THESE) or a donation. We'll order them a month or two ahead.
-Escort cards? Haven't even touched it yet.

Registry
-Constantly changing. Is that bad? I'll stop once I see the first gift has been bought. I promise...

Wedding Website
-It's been 50% done since last July, and nothing has been done since. FI is in charge of this.
-It just needs to be completed by the time invites go out (June), because we're putting a TON of area information (airports, hotels, maps, activities) on there for the OOT guests.

Beauty
-Haven't touched it. Don't think I want to go with my normal hairdresser. She probably won't be happy about this.

Officiant/Ceremony/Wedding License
-My cousin-in-law (? MOH (my cousin)'s husband) will perform ceremony. Super-pumped about this! He's going through ULC.
-General ceremony format chosen, a few elements picked out. This is a slow process. Good thing it's gonne be SHORT (under 7 minutes).
-I figured out the wedding license stuff but have since forgot. I remember it not being complicated.

Rehearsal Dinner
-We're staying in cabins on the venue's property. We'll be doing something casual together in one of the cabins.

Bridal Shower
-Having serious guilt issues about this, exacerbated by the fact that one of my closest aunts is about to lose her job. I want to call it something other than a "shower" or not have anything at all. SERIOUS GUILT ISSUES HERE.
-Needs to be decided SOON, as a lot of people will need to make travel plans. It'll be held at the end of July or beginning of August.

ETC.
-Have to look into fire insurance if we want candles.
-My wedding band (will be custom), plus 2 backups, are chosen. His is not. We're still trying to figure out the best way to do this, because he really wants to pick in-person BUT most places don't have a great selection of tungsten/titanium, which is what he wants.

My wedding is Oct 11th. We have been going back and forth on a few contracts, but the majority of the outstanding tasks can hopefully be down when we are in town for a week in July.

Venues
Church, Reception Site and Hotel booked
Church - need to finalize paperwork

Rehearsal Dinner
Venue booked
Need to send invites
Need to order pie for Groom''s Cake
Need to select menu/alcohol (will do in July)
Need fab shoes to go w/ dress that I just bought!

Ceremony
All participants (readers, servers etc) have been asked
All readings have been picked
Need to pick music for prelude and ceremony
Need programs for ceremony
Need ring bearer pillow
Need unity candle

Reception
Need to select food and alcohol (will do in July)

Hotel
Need to do gift bags for out of town guests (later once we get RSVPs)

Florist
All arrangements picked and contracted for
Need to sort out table coverings - his quote was too high
Need to add order for hair flowers for me, flower girls
Need to change fi''s mom''s bouquet (per her request @@)

Photographer
Booked for engagement photos and wedding day

Videographer
We want one but I''m not sure it''s been booked (relying on coordinator for this)

Steamer
Booked (for my dress and all dresses for wedding party)

In negotiations now for hair/makeup for myself, 6 bm''s, my mom and his mom

Musicians
String quartet and trumpeter for ceremony booked (need to specify music)
Pianist for cocktail hour booked
Jazz trio for dinner hour booked
DJ booked for dancy partay (need to provide list of songs)

Cake
Booked, but need to select style, flavors (will do in July)

Need to book large vehicle transportation for wedding day
Need to book horse and carriage for after reception

Wedding attire
Dress ordered
Veil ordered
Shoes needed (Manolos too big
7.gif
)
Garter needed

Bridesmaids''/Flower Girl attire
All dresses in
BMs using their own shoes
Currently having necklaces made for each BM

Groom''s/Groomsmen attire
All need to order tuxes (will do in July)

Bride''s lunch
Taking all the girls to lunch the day before wedding - will book in July

Gifts for participants
Will get blown glass for fi''s parents (their request)
My parents - maybe a hotel and dinner certificate
Priest - some sort of exercise equipment gift cert. (he''s a health nut)
Bridesmaids - having necklaces made, giftcards? Had thought about slippers but not sure.
Groomsmen - bottle of bourbon (this is a KY wedding) and engraved hip flask
Flower Girls/Ring Bearer - I have no idea
Readers - bottle of bourbon for one, no idea for the other 2
Eucharistic Ministers, Program attendants - I have no idea
Monetary tips for all service providers

---

I think that''s about it. The things stressing me out now are the programs, the transportation and the hair/makeup. I need to find an affordable program option as we''re having 200-225 guests and the current budget won''t allow for $3-5 per program. I think the transportation will be fine once we get all the contracts through, and hopefully the same with the hair and makeup. The rest we can hopefully accomplish in July when we''re in town!

Gypsy...try Envelope Mall. While I have not personally ordered from there, I have seen several people on Weddingbee use them and be happy with what they got.

They ADDRESS the envelopes you already own for you Amandine? I have the envelopes already, just need someone to address them either in script or by computer for me. I see the printing link... it's a minimum of 1000.

THANKS FOR THE LINK!

Y''all are soooo organized!! I have a bad habit of putting things in strange places thinking that i''ll remember , but I never do (which is why I''ve already lost my college diploma, and I just graduated in december!), so yeah, i definitely stole y''all''s formatting! did i mention that i once found one of my shoes in the fridge?

Date: October 11, ''08

Venue
-Booked, all rentals (chairs/tables/etc.) included
-Need to make a payment next friday, aaahhhh!

Photography
-Booked photographer forever ago
-Decided against the engagement shoot included in our package, so she''s giving us parent albums in place of this.

Florist
-Booked, but weneed to give her a deposit; right now, she''s holding the date out of sheer generosity!

DJ
-Booked and AWESOME. he sent us a set of worksheets to fill out, complete with his preferred order for the reception, so we don''t even have t figure out what to do when because his makes so much sense.

Day of Coordinator
-Provided by venue automatically

Catering
-Have until the end of the month to make deposit, but menu is done--Italian food!
-Still trying to figure out alcohol because we originally wanted an open bar, but our venue is half an hour out of town and we have far too many people coming to afford transportation for all. We''re friends with a local guy, though, who owns most of the bars in our hometown and has offered to throw us an after-party, so what we''re probably going to do is serve wine, beer, and a signature drink at our reception, which would last from 5 until 9 instead of our original party ''til whenever, then we''ll go downtown and people can drink freely there because there are cabs everywhere.

Cake
-Haven''t even touched it yet
-The caterer''s events coordinator''s mom is a baker, so we''ll probably go with her.

Dress/Accessories
-Ordered and payment due by the 20th, at which point I get to bring my baby HOOOOOME (sorry, i go into opera mode to express enthusiasm, haha)
-Haven''t looked at shoes and am panicking because i know my dress is a little long and can''t be hemmed, so i need some blue platforms (ooooh frekechild! can i borrow your avatar in a 7 1/2?)
-In my family, the old, new, borrowed, blue is the family prayer book and a rosary. Both are blue, and have been passed down through my family for generations, so they''re old, but new to me, i don''t get to keep them until well after the wedding, so they''re borrowed, and as previously stated, are blue.

Attendants
-I have been slacking on getting swatches to the girls, but once I do, they''re all picking their own dresses. All I care about is that the colors match, and I''m happy.
-Groomsmen are scarily uninformed, but so is my groom, so what can ya do? heh

Decor
-I pretty much told my florist to be creative and have fun. I told her I wanted submerged centerpieces and that I love paper lanterns. She has devised a truly brilliant, unique, and beautiful concept, and I''m mucho happy.
-Centerpieces are purple and blue submerged orchids, maybe three clustered together. See pix--the orchids will look like the colorful ones but be set up like the arrangement with the white ones.
-Aisle runners are paper lanterns hanging from shepherd''s hooks with orchids on ribbons hanging from the bottom

Guest list and Stationery
-Guest list is in serious need of reduction; our initial excitement led us to put down every person we had ever met, and being as my guy and I have both maintained close friendships with most of our exes, there''s some awkwardness to be worked out.
-Save-the-dates are driving me crzy-I want something, cute, bright blue, cheap, and that doesn''t require me to be crafty because I have superglued my fingers together more times than I care to admit!
-Invitations still aren''t figured out either. We wanted colorful but not so casual it looks like a 5 year old''s bday party. We may just have them printed in bright font on white paper and tie them with colorful ribbon like the sample in the pic below but without the starfish and palm tree.

Favors and Escort Cards
-We''re doing donations. my guy''s dad died of diabetes, and several members of both our families have it, and cancer is all over my side of the family, so we''ll be donating to both of those.
-Escort cards will be velcroed to a white board with alternating ribbons in our colors (which are cobalt, aqua, eggplant, and lime--we''re an old navy shopping bag). see the pic below of the board done like this in pink and navy.

Registry
-We''re going through weddingchannel.com because we want to register for a honeymoon, but some of the old people in my family may take issue with that, and with wc''s registry, they''re partnered with traveler''s joy, macy''s jc penney, and a whole score of other stores, so it''s the best of both worlds for us.

Honeymoon
-Deposit has been made--we''re going to Italy for two weeks!
-I still need to get a passport!

Wedding Website
-I did it on theknot.com in about 20 minutes.
-We need to finish the registry so that information can go on there.

Beauty
-One of my best friends is a licensed cosmetologist, so she''s doing my hair and makeup for free. I''ve had a test run with her every time we''ve ever gotten ready to go somewhere together, haha. she''s done everything on me from gorgeous waves to a richard simmons halloween costume using my real hair for the ''fro. i was dead sexy!

Officiant/Ceremony/Wedding License
-My FI''s friend/coworker is ordained and is doing ours. Neither of us is super-religious, and he was cool about letting us write out whatever we wanted, so we''ve already put together our entire ceremony for him.
-I found a link on about.com where they gave the ceremony format generally used in movies, which is GREAT because it''s religious without being too specific, and I combined that with a few elements from the Book of Common Prayer, and we were good to go.
-Georgia''s wedding license stuff is remarkably simple (maybe that''s because we still have common law marriages here, too. Technically, all I''d have to do to be legally recognized as my FI''s wife is take his last name because we already live together and share finances, haha.

Rehearsal Dinner
-not a clue other than that the FI''s parents are cool with paying for it.

Bridal Shower
-A) I''m Irish-Italian, so my family is HUMONGOUS. B)I''ve had the same group of girlfriends since I was about eight. That said, I''m going to have three or four showers because a cousin wants to throw a lingerie shower, my aunts want to throw a traditional shower, my best friend''s mom wants to throw a shower because she''s afraid my best friend''s guy is never going to propose, so i''m her only hope, and my girlfriends want to throw me a shower because i''ve thrown all of their showers, birthdays, etc. so it''s payback time.

ETC.
-I may have to sell myself on ebay to afford the FI''s ring
-My wedding band came with my engagement ring, so that''s a done deal.

GYPSY! I might be able to address your envelopes for a good price, depending on what you want!

Okay, let's see......My wedding is Sept. 6th:

Venue:
It was picked and contractedlast June.
Had tasting last month, picked out the food we like and will finalize menu next month.
Still have 3 months to pay up 50%. Remainder will be due 1 week prior to wedding.

Florist:
Decisions 95% made, contract signed and deposit paid.
Went really simple, to cut costs and keep the look classic.
Chose mostly black baccaria roses and other deep red flowers.
Will pay remainder about a week before the wedding (they're pretty flexible).

DJ/Music:
First DJ I picked turned out to be a scam.
Decided instead to go with the husband of a coworker friend, who DJ's for a living.
Didn't want a deposit, but will be sending me a contract soon.
He rocks.
Hired a friend to play classical guitar at the ceremony. Chose fantastic songs. Excited.

Day of Coordinator:
Costs $50 and sort of comes with the venue.

Cake:
Have tasting tomorrow (April 5).
Hope to have an extremely simple design, square-shaped cake. We'll see how much it costs.
Chocolate.

Dress and attire:
Ordered my dress in August, it's still not in. Going on 8 months.
The bridal salon is vague and doesn't get back to me. Totally stressing me out.
Worried dress will never come in, despite my WICKED early and prepared order.
Shoes bought. Love them. Need to find classy silver sandals for dancing.
Jewelry on layaway, and some will be borrowed.
Still need to find undergarments.
Veil will be handmade by my cousin.
Hair jewelry bought.
FI plans to buy his suit in June.

Attendants:
Ordered Maid of Honor's dress last month. She is in charge of her own shoes, and such.
Best man will shop with FI for a suit in June.

Decorative stuff:
Bought corks on Ebay for placecard holders. Have to figure out a way to cut them to make the bottoms flat.
Designing Table cards, place cards myself.
Not sure what the heck to do with the ceremony site (ballroom).
No idea about favors. May be none.
Definitely getting the chair covers for the reception site (outside tent).

Guest List/Invites:
Still need to give the bridal shower guest list to my MOH.
Designed STD's, sent them out last month, at the 6-month mark.
Invitations are designed, need to buy jackets & envelopes for them, and print them.

Envelope Container:
Haven't thought about that yet.

Registry:
Finished, but constantly being updated. Heehee...

Wedding Website:
Didn't want to do one, but distant family members wanted to know where I was registered, and including wedding website on STD was the only polite way to indirectly give out that info.

Beauty:
Hair dresser moved far away, I'm working on a new one.
Dunno if I'm hiring a makeup artist yet.
Amped up my skin regimen to make sure face is healthy.
Plan to buy all tube tops this summer to avoid shoulder-strap tan lines. Heh.

Photography:
Pro photographer friend got pregnant and backed out. Last week.
Hope to utilize talented friends.
At least we have some great engagement photos!

Officiant:
JP as chosen last July.
Already worked out the ceremony wording and vows. Very simple, non-denominational and sweet.
JP rocks: she will answer any questions necessary for acquiring our marriage license.

Rehearsal Dinner:
Most likely a pot-luck dinner at my Aunt's house. Ceremony is so simple that we won't need an official rehearsal.

Bridal Shower/Bachelorette:
MOH will handle it, with help from a few of my helpful galpals.
Bridal Shower will most likely be in July, on a cousin's gorgeous deck, by the pool. Fun!

Wedding Bands:
Had mine for a few months.
FI will buy his next month.

PHEW! That was cleansing!!

Krissie we''re wedding twins!!! same date and 6 bridesmaids! NEAT!

okay, my freaking graphics converter is being stupid, so this is probably going to either be the size of a nickel or super grainy, but at this point, i was just too stubborn not to post SOMETHING. GOUBAS;PUIOGB!! sorry; my rage is ranted now.

imangry.jpg

Ok, Gypsy, you set the bar for details high - like everyone else I''m gonna copy your format!

Sept 13 wedding...

I''ve got:

Both venues booked, deposits paid.
Working on scheduling the tasting for May - trying to coordinate our schedule, the chef''s schedule, and FI''s parents'' schedule (they''ll be driving from 5 hours away...)
Still have to choose which 4 things we want to taste.
Remainders due shortly before wedding

Florist:
Haven''t even met with anyone yet. Just made an appointment for next weekend at one place, and I''ve been banging my head against the wall trying to come up w/ frugal alternatives in case what they can do on my budget seems pointless. Will definitely have bouquets, etc done by a florist, but centerpieces, etc are up for discussion.

DJ
Picked, booked, half paid. Remainder due day of the wedding. Will eventually get to the play/no-play lists closer to the wedding, but that will likely be FI''s job (maybe...if I can get him to actually do it). We''ve thought/talked a lot about first dance song, entrance song, etc but haven''t made any final decisions.

Ceremony/cocktail/dinner Music
Classical guitarist is booked and deposit paid. Picked out all the ceremony music when we met with him. He''s also moving to the reception venue to play for 2 hours before the DJ takes over the party.

Day of Coordinator:
No plans as of right now to have one...

Cake
Cakes tasted, baker and design picked. Deposit paid. Rest is due shortly before the wedding LOVE our cake. SOOO yummy!

Dress and attire.
Dress - hanging 5 feet away from me as we speak.
Alterations - haven''t looked for a seamstress yet, but considering whether an 1.5 hr drive is worth going to the one woman every knottie on the Detroit board SWEARS by. She''s their idol, and from what I''ve heard she''s not expensive. Our photographer''s brides have raved about her, too. If I can schedule fittings with her around my schedule and the driving, I think it might be worth it just for the peace of mind that comes with a thousand great recommendations.
Jewelry - I''ve had several threads on this recently. STILL haven''t found the right combo. Actively looking.
Hair pins - looked around a lot, considering making my own. I''m going to wait to purchase anything until after I get my jewelry sorted out, though.
Veil - I have ideas, and am considering ordering from occanseydesigns.com I want to go try some veils on with my dress with my MOH before I buy, though. Next week maybe, since FI will be OOT.
Shoes - Purchased, but need to get them dyed and find some inserts to keep them from slipping (PRAYING they work). Still debating between ivory and bright blue...
Undergarments - I have my bustier, still looking for cute panties. Debating whether to wear stockings.

Attendants.
All the attendants are chosen and on board. Just sent the email out asking for my girls'' measurements so I can place the dress order with Pearl''s Place. One of Four has gotten back to me so far.
FI knows what he wants for tuxes, but we haven''t gone and actually seen them in person yet or chosen a company. Will bug FI to do that as soon as he''s back in town after his trip next week.

Decorative stuff...
Decided we definitely need chair covers. I need to go visit a local place our venue really recommends for them.
See above for florist...

Guest list and STDs.
Guest list is basically figured out, except for some B-list type people who we can''t decide on. STDs were sent out in Feb.

Invitations.
I''m DIYing, and I have my design figured out and mostly completed in Adobe Illustrator. I have about half the materials I''ll need - still need to buy one of the cardstock colors and the envelopes. Once I finish the design (shooting for this weekend) I''ll take a copy to some local print shops to get quotes.

Favors and Escort Cards.
Torn between baking our favorite cookies and cards made from paper that will grow wildflowers if you plant it (since we''re getting married in a garden). Might do both if I can work it into the budget. Will make our own escort cards using the same cardstock as the invitations. Haven''t really thought yet about the presentation of them.

Envelope container.
Oh yeah, we need one of those... I''ll probably just get a box of an appropriate size from the gazillion deliveries we get at work and gift-wrap it. Honestly, I don''t care much.

Registry.
Mostly done.

Wedding Website.
Done, with the exception of some info we still don''t have (like hotel blocks)

Hotel Blocks
Need to do that. Pronto.

Beauty
Exploring my options, waiting for an info packet to arrive from one woman who doesn''t send stuff by email for some reason. Waiting on answers from my girls about what they want to have done (hair, makeup, or both). Will schedule a trial as soon as I pick a place.

Photography.
First thing we booked after the venues. LOVE her. Will make the album ourselves after the wedding (we get full printing rights). Engagement session is scheduled for June.

Officiant and wedding license.
We''re meeting with a potential officiant next Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed that we like her. Have to apply for the license between 3 and 33 days before the wedding. Thankfully it''s cheap in MI ($20 bucks), and only one of us has to be there.

Rehearsal
As soon as we book an officiant, I''ll work on scheduling the rehearsal.

Rehearsal dinner
Ummmmmmm, we''re thinking dinner at a local pizza house. Nothing fancy or expensive.

Bridal Shower
I have no clue.

Wedding bands
Ordered my wedding band from Mark Morrell on Monday! FI is thinking he wants a particular tungsten band, but he still has reservations about the whole sizing issue (the fact that you CAN''T). I think he''ll go for it, but it''s going to take a while for him to finalize the decision. Thankfully the turnaround once it''s ordered will be quick, so there''s no huge rush.

Wedding gifts
I have a few ideas for FI''s gift, but none of them are particularly great. I know he wants b-pics, but I haven''t gotten up the nerve.
No clue yet what we''ll give our parents or bridal party.

Doodle- Awesome blue cake!!! Where did you see it????

Sept 20 wedding

Venue:
Booked ages ago.
Have to decide on chairs/floorplan.
Caterer and menu chosen.
Planning to purchase our own alcohol, but need to do it.

Florist:
Chosen and flowers picked out, and second meeting had. Love them!
Need to email them about adding an extra bridesmaid, the size of my bouquet, and a few other minor details.

DJ:
Secured ages ago, sight unseen.
Need to meet with him to go over what music we want.
But before we do that we need to decide what music we want.

Need to email ceremony musicians (fiance wants to increase size of group) and decide on ceremony music.

Cake:
Our biggest thing up in the air - my mom wants her friend to bake the cake. I''m unsure of friend''s talent/experience, but mom assures me people say she is good. I don''t really care, so mom can do what she wants. But mom needs to actually sit down and talk with this friend to go over pricing, flavors, etc., but she never finds the time to. In a pinch, the caterer can always make our cake (tasted at our tasting, decent but not spectacular).

Dress and attire:
Dress arrived, sitting under my bed at my mom''s house! Needs minor alterations, which will hopefully be done by a family friend.
I have shoes.
I have earrings and a borrowed ring to wear.
My mom is going to make the veil, but I have to decide what I think it should look like.
Have to decide on hair and makeup and schedule trials.

Fiance has purchased his tuxedo and new shoes, and he has ordered a bowtie that we are hoping will be a champagne color to match my dress.

Attendants:
An extra bridesmaid (#3) and groomsman (#3) (fiance''s brother and sister) have just been added. So 2 of 3 bridesmaids have ordered their dresses. Groomsman #1 already owns a tux, so just needs a black tie, and groomsman #2 (my bro) won''t be back in the US until the end of August, so he will plan to rent a tux then, I think.

Decor:
Decided on green tablecloths. Purchased candelabras for the mantlepiece. Need to buy a bunch of votive candles and candleholders. Need to decide on what chairs to use.

Guest list:
Save-the-dates sent out a few weeks back. A few didn''t get them because we didn''t have addresses and we ran out (mom only purchased enough supplies to make 50).

Invitations:
Met with invitation consultant a few weeks back. Waiting for a quote. Have heard she''s slow, but we''re not really in a hurry yet.

Registry:
Done.

Wedding Website:
Done.

Photography:
Booked photographers a long time ago. Not doing engagement shoot.

Officiant and wedding license:
Booked officiant (a simple JOP). Will have him read a simple secular ceremony and my dad will read excerpt of ceremony he wrote for my mom''s and his wedding. Wedding license we are saving til day before (!!!) because it''s next to impossible for us to both be together in the same state on a weekday from now til then.

Rehearsal Luncheon:
Big headache. No clue what we''re going to do, and don''t feel like thinking about it.

Bridal Shower:
Mom and cousin want to plan it. I want it to be co-ed and very casual. Otherwise, I don''t much care.

Wedding bands:
Purchased and engraved.

I''m starting to feel like if we did almost nothing between now and then, the wedding would still go off and we''d still somehow end up married. With the obvious exception of getting the marriage license!

Date: June 17, 2008.
Location: Los Cabos, Mexico
Guests invited: 33
Ceremony time: 6:45 P.M.

Venue
-Booked
-Open bar package selected. Need to hear back from coordinator about the red wine (we Argentineans NEED to have good wine!)
-Must-do: select menu

Photography
-Booked photographer
-Need to tell him what our "must-have" shots are
-Must-do: find out how much he would charge us for an hour or two so we can get comfortable with him (similar idea suggested by another poster, I forget who)

Florist
-Booked
-I'm pretty set on my bouquet (cream/ivory roses, cream/ivory lisianthus, green hydrangea, bells of Ireland, and white snapdragons)
-Considering whether I want to pay them to do a mockup of the centerpieces for me (they charge full price for it). Right now my idea is to do orange/peach centerpieces. Right now, the description is peach roses, hydrangeas, mums and bells of Ireland in clear acrylic dish. Have no idea what that will look like, not sure I have the guts to find out the day of.

DJ
-In process of booking. The one the resort recommends (we must use resort-approved vendors) doesn't have a lot of the music we want (salsa, merengue, etc.) He said he can get the songs, but at this point it would mean picking out almost every single song!
-Contacted a different DJ, will set up a phone call to see if we like him and if his music list is more what we want. But will need to get him approved by resort.
-Must-do: convey to whatever DJ we choose our "must not play under any circumstances" list (YMCA, macarena, chicken dance, etc. basically anything wedding-y)

Venue Coordinator
-Provided by venue, she's wonderful

Cake
-Tres leches. Totally the wrong cake choice as far as the look of it (it's a soft, mushy cake) but I don't care! It's so good. Plus, I wasn't planning to do all kinds of crazy decorating. ;)
-We'll have ice cream for those who don't like tres leches cake

Dress/Accessories
-Dress: at my sister's. Have appointment to have it altered Saturday April 26
-Shoes: ordered, being dyed
-Necklace, bracelet, and ring (fashion): all set. Need: earrings (have a pair, but not crazy about them)
-FI: gorgeous Hugo Boss suit. Will be getting altered within the next couple of weeks.
-Must-do: get shoes and belt for FI

E-ring and wedding bands
-Bought diamond like a year ago, could not find setting I like. Having setting custom-made, should be done soon. Can't wait.
-Purchased diamond insurance
-Will do wedding bands after e-ring is done.

By our side (don't like traditional "designations")
-Sister bought dress. It's a gold/ivory dress, it's beautiful, but definitely less colorful than she'd do on her own (all I asked is that she wear a muted color), but I told her she can go super-sexy and colorful with the shoes (she loves color). She has just gotten done with chemo so she will hardly have any hair. But she's so beautiful, it won't matter.
-Best man (FI's best friend). We sent him pictures of suit FI is wearing, so he can have an idea of what we mean by "muted" color.
-My niece on my sister's side (she's 8) bought a gorgeous dress. Now we need to have my other niece (13, on FI's side) buy a dress. I still don't know what their "job" will be, since I'm not doing rose petals or anything. I'm thinking each girl will carry a ring.

Mom and dad
-Although I wasn't too happy when mom told me she bought a black dress, it's actually beautiful, and she looks great in it.
-Dad: my mom had originally bought him a white/ivory jacket, which looked like it was from the 70s. Finally worked up the nerve to tell her I didn't like it. She's going to buy him a suit instead. I am so glad, I want my dad to look handsome, and now I know he will.
9.gif

-Mom's been putting pressure on me asking me every few weeks or so "dad's going to walk you down the aisle, right?" (she knows I am so NOT traditional). I want to walk alone. But will ask both my mom/dad to walk in front of me. It is my way of being alone with my thoughts (and nervoussness) as I walk down the aisle but at the same time honoring them both.
-Must-do: tell mom I don't plan on doing father/daughter dance. Yikes.

Decor
-The resort is absolutely gorgeous, all different terrace levels overlooking the ocean and the rocks. Intimate, stylish, upscale w/o being stuffy, just perfect for us.
-Must-do: figure out ceremony decor. Not sure what I want to do, don't necessarily like the chuppah-type thing, yet everything else looks like "not enough" or something. I want it to look pretty but can't come up with something that suits me.

Guest list and Stationery

-STDs were sent out about a year ago.
-Last couple of invitations (put them together myself) sent out today.
-Considering doing the seating cards myself

Favors and/or gifts for guests and Escort Cards
-None
-Don't know what an escort card is (don't care, either haha).
-Must do: figure out what gifts we will give our guests

Registry
-Have a feeling I won't do one. Just feels overwhelming, don't want to deal with it.

Wedding Website
-None

Beauty
-2 hair trials. Will most likely just wait until I'm in Mexico for the third one. (man, THREE hair trials??) Oh well. I was extra good with the cost of my dress AND my shoes.
-Makeup. Will most likely wait until I'm in Mexico for trial.
-Must-do: tell coordinator in Mexico date for hair/makeup trial

Officiant/Ceremony/Wedding License
-Communicated with minister via e-mail only
-Ceremony will be about 15-20 minutes.
-Must do: decide on music, continue working on vows, set up a call with minister

Rehearsal Dinner
-Not planning on one. We might do a breakfast or brunch thing.

Bridal Shower
-Not doing one (really glad about this, don't like showers at all). My sister, niece, aunt, and mom will be taking both FI and I on a Bahamas "cruise" for a day.

Honeymoon in L.A. and Vegas
-L.A. hotel: Sofitel, booked
-Vegals hotel: Bellaggio, booked
-Shows: "O", booked
-Hoping for: tickets to Leno. Requested them about a year ago
-Need to think about: restaurant musts, maybe even a club must

Other Must-dos
-Think about or even book things to do in Mexico with everyone
-Figure out when FI will do his "all-guy thing" so I can do an "all-girl thing" the same day

Nice things that happened:
-My aunt being absolutely thrilled with the idea of me giving her a flower to pin to her dress the day of. I told her only because if she hated the idea I would have done something else. Will surprise my mom with the same thing, in orchids, since it's her favorite flower.
1.gif

-Some guests telling me they absolutely loved the way the invitations looked (never considered myself very creative, but if I must say so myself, both the STDs and the invites came out great. FI put both together, since that is the one part I would have had NO patience with. He's so fng great).
-FI being involved in the details with me. We're both so fng anal, we like things just so.
-Resort letting us play the music until 11:30 P.M. (normally it's 10:30 P.M.)
-Spending time with my sister and niece going to look for stuff with me, and them just being excited about my wedding
-My family being excited about our wedding. Some people on FI's family side too, but my family is just way more expressive!

I just realized the post calls for FALL brides. The "fall" part didn''t register when I first saw the post. Sorry about that.

October 25th wedding.

This is my first time posting any details, much less making a list like this!

Venue:
After an exhaustive search (Aug thru Nov!!) we booked our venue:
Table Rock State Park
Totally paid for, woo-hoo! And its the only thing totally paid for...
But, as it is just the venue plus table and chairs, we have a lot to figure out with our caterer...

Caterer:
Booked, but no deposit yet.
Still working on menu, no tasting yet.
Fortunately, they are doing all of our rentals: linens, china, silver, etc.
Need to select said rental items.
We are providing our own alcohol, just beer and wine to cut costs. Need to talk to friend who may be able to hook us up with wholesale on this. We will just have to drop it off at the caterers and they will take care of chilling it and bringing it to the venue.
Which leads me to...no delivery fees for anyone else, because our wonderful caterer said we can have cake, flowers, favors, etc., brought to them and they will take it to the venue for us! Considering our venue is 45 minutes out of town, this is saving us a ton of money!

Florist:
Selected, just need to re-connect, sign contract and send deposit off.
Need to decide if I want to do the potted mums I want to use as centerpieces through them or not. May be more cost effective elsewhere?

DJ:
Met with DJ, loved him!
Waiting for contract to arrive in mail so I can sign it and send off with the deposit.

Cake:
Met with her a couple times.
So excited about this part, she makes wonderfully moist cake (we are having chocolate bourbon!), with the "good" kind of buttercream. Like the vanilla buttercream better, personally, but FI is set on chocolate for cake exterior. It really surprised me how much of an interest he took in the way the cake looks, thought it wouldn''t matter to much to him. Boy, was I wrong!
Still have half of trial cake (one of four I came home with!) in kitchen, must get someone to help me finish it!
Need to send deposit off, and discuss her delivering cake to caterer (only a couple miles away from her home).

Dress and attire:
Have dress, need to pay second half off.
Need to start working on headpiece, making it myself. Mom is making my birdcage veil, need to finalize the netting for her to start with. She should have a couple models ready for me when I am home in August for the shower. Love having a crafty, talented Mom!
Still looking for shoes. Considering Blue Tux shoe...but still trying to find a blue shoe, rather it not be a dyeable. But if I have to, will go that route.
No crinoline needed, thank goodness!
Need to set up fitting, but have to pay dress off first.
Haven''t even begun to look for jewelry.
Not started on undergarments, either.

His apparel and our rings:
Nothing done with this. Am trusting the yet-to-be-asked Best Man (FI''s fabulous uncle, amazing taste!) to get him all set and looking good in tux.
Not even started on our wedding bands. Sigh...

Attendants (female):
Sigh, with only two of them, you would think this wouldn''t be so difficult! My MOH has become a lot more conservative in the past few years, and is interested in something with sleeves/little jacket and not too low cut. Not unreasonable, I know, but not easy to find, either! Of course, she could wear a cute jacket and my BM not wear one, but we shall see.
No idea yet for gifts.

Attendants (male):
FI needs to ask them, for starters!
Nothing done for their apparel.

Decorative:
Working on source for potted mums for centerpieces.
Mom will be purchasing apples, small gourds, etc. at local farmers market before driving down the week of the wedding.
Need to revisit venue to see what else we want to do.

Favors:
FI will be making homemade BBQ sauce and canning it. Need to start this, so we can do it in small batches and not kill ourselves later.

Guest List:
Mostly set in who.
Need to get addresses to be all set for when we send STDs and invites.

STDs and invites:
Both DIY, only will be professionally printed.
Need to settle on fonts.
Need to finish STDs, and get ready to send to printer.
Invites...need to start!

Programs:
FI will be doing this. We met through theatre, so will be doing a "Playbill". Long way to go on this.

Quilt for guest book:
Need to notify my wonderful Aunt who will be making the quilt which design we settled on (Triple Irish Chain) and which color scheme (fall, to match wedding), so she can get started on piecing.

Registry:
Not even started, much less settled on where. No gift giving events till August, so we have some time.

Wedding website:
Getting there. Need to be mostly complete for when I send STDs, since its when we will be notifying people it exists.

Beauty:
BM who lives in Greenville is getting recommendations for salons. Next visit will have to see them and go from there.

Photography:
Love her: Shannon Wright!
Need to send deposit, contract signed.
Need to set up engagement photo session.

Officiant:
Family pastor to perform ceremony.
Need to pick readings. Heck, need to start thinking about ceremony at all.
Need to research wedding license requirements, and go from there.
Need to start pre-marital counseling, which means we also need to find and read recommended book.

Other music:
Need to find ceremony classical guitarist.

Rehearsal dinner:
Need to figure out how many, so BM husband can scout sites for us. He''s a foodie, which will be a big help!
Need to figure out where and what we are doing, so I can find an outfit! Any excuse for new clothes, right?

Bridal shower:
Family at home in Michigan will throw. Will (hopefully!) just need to show up.

MOB/MOH:
Need to find attire for both!
If need be, MOB can make her own dress, we even have a pattern. Like I said above, she''s one talented lady!

Hotel:
Need to call national reservation center for block of rooms pricing for hotel that I am interested in. At least I have visited the actual hotel!

Need to find wedding insurance, as FI''s grandmother has cancer and other problems and we want to cover our bases.

Geez, is that everything!? I have a lot more to do! Most importantly I need to get my butt in gear and get contracts signed and deposits sent off. I hope I won''t regret how much we are DIYing, especially since I am long distance from everyone who would normally help me: Mom, BMs, Best Man, etc. And FI''s job will be problem in the summer: his company runs a laser/light/pyro show that occurs nightly from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Which takes a big cut out of time he would normally have to help me. So, I may be second guessing some of these decisions later! Augh!

October 18th wedding...
Venue: I''ve got an Excel spreadsheet full of them
Officiant: will soon be asking my profs to recommend their favorite judge
Caterer: sigh
Dress: haven''t tried any on yet
Florist: haven''t started looking
Photographer: have started looking

Um, it''s a good thing the wedding isn''t until 2009, don''t you think??

Violet:

Will you share the book title?

Also, if you don''t mind my asking-- how much are you paying for your invite calligraphy (and who are you using, if you are willing to share).

Finally, Have you looked into Marriage license stuff? Is there a time period it''s valid for? I''d love to get ours on our NINE year dating anniversary this June, as a romantic gesture, but I''m afraid that for our September weddding it might expire. Do you know anything about that?

Marriage licenses are good for 90 days in california apparently. So that should work for you.

Here''s the book:
The Wedding Ceremony Planner: The Essential Guide to the Most Important Part of Your Wedding Day

I really like the book because it puts each part of the ceremony into a section then allows you to choose what you want to fill in that section, so vows = choose from section 20 to section 42 etc. You piece it all together and voila, wedding ceremony! There''s religious, non-religious etc. It''s great for people like me who know ZERO about putting a ceremony together. It includes lots of the little details from beginning to end. My friend is loving it too, it gives him a lot to work with.

For the RSVP stamp I had to pay a minimum of $80 to Tracy Joe Calligraphy. She''s just writing our address in a spencerian ($35 for the address, balance remaining).

Here''s the font we''re using for the stamp.

We''re using the same font for the following items at the following costs (not including paper):
$1.25 each for first and last name escort cards
$1.00 each for table names and $.50 for table numbers.
One time color charge of $10.

The woman who''s doing the rest of the calligraphy work is located in Pacific Grove at a place called the Quill. Her name is Deborah. Might be out of the area for you... but you could call them. I''ll probably pick up the paper at paper source or flax in SF.

Tracy Joe does great work but charged considerably more than Deborah and also doesn''t include the paper. I love her work though. Anyways the $80 we paid her is pricey but I get some more items for that $80 so I''m trying to decide what else i''d like her to calligraphy for me to fill out the price. She does require that minimum though to do any work. A lot I know... she''s also not making the stamp just providing the art. I''ll send it to a stamp making company. We got Deborah after I picked Tracy to do the address so we probably could have saved money there.
