Hey ladies!

My fabulous SO sent me a gift certificate to my favorite spa/salon, Logan Raye http://loganraye.com/ ... just because! (isn''t he great!)

Anyways, I usually ALWAYS get a personal massage- it''s truly an hour of bliss! (if you''ve never had one, I HIGHLY suggest it- especially the hot stone massage- it feels like they''re rubbing you down with a stick of hot butter!).

We have fall formal coming up in a few weekend (and SO is flying back from Germany to be my date

). I thought about MAYBE switching it up and treating myself to something different. I just don''t want to be dissapointed that I didn''t go for the massage! Other options include: facial, pedicure, manicure, an up-do for the formal, etc. etc. I''m leaning more towards an up-do for the formal (so at least he can enjoy my new hot look too!)

What is YOUR favorite pamper treatment and why?

I like gentle, non deep massage. I also LOVE scalp massages. Hot stone treatments are awesome too. I love the way the heat feels on my aches and pains.

I only like wraps if I can keep my arms OUT. I can get very claustrophobic.

First of all, you have a fabulous SO, lucky girl!

I love massages, but when I have an event coming up, I go for the mani-pedi. It looks lovely for the event, and for a few days after.

A word of caution: if you do get a facial, make sure it is well before the event, as I''ve seen girls looking like blotchy, peeling monsters for formal events after a facial the same day.

Wow, it''s been so long....geeze...

I am definitely a huge fan of the deep tissue massage (yeah, I like it rough...lol)

But, I agree with and event coming up I would do the hair or a mani/pedi!

My BF got a gift certificate for me too at a spa...Our guys think a like

Anyway I got a Shea Butter body treatment...My skin felt so smooth and I smelled like a brownie when it was done. I got it 2 weeks ago and my skin still feels really moisturized...I loved it!!

But you can''t ever go wrong with a great massage!

I''d probably go for the mani/pedi for the event just to get an extra polished look... however, when my BF got me a gift certificate to a spa a couple of years ago I had my first facial and it was AMAZING! I never expected it to be my favorite (I got several services done that day) but it was extremely relaxing and made my face so clear and soft. If you''ve never had one, I recommend it for sure!

Massage, of course!!

But I may be a little biased, since I happen to be a massage therapist

I''ve only gotten a manicure twice, and I have to admit I did not enjoy either one. I will probably never get one again.. ha, not my thing. Plus, I gotta keep my nails pretty short anyways...

Although it''s not available everywhere...I adore 24kt gold facials.

The effect comes out usually a day afterward...it''s pretty amazing.

What on earth is a 24 kt gold facial?? Do they rub your face with one of those gold bricks? haha.. sorry.

But seriously - I''m very intrigued.

I''d love to try it but it sounds very expensive

It''s actually an Indian facial, and the only places I''ve ever seen them offered or had them done was in Indian owned spas.

The products used are gold based and can only be purchased in India from my understanding...and yes, they do have genuine 24kt gold flecks in them. The mask is what makes the facial....they apply the gold flecks to your face along with another product, once the two meet on your skin it emulsifies and seeps into your pores. Yes, it tingles. You lay there for 30 minutes with this...after its removed, you are not allowed to wash your face for 12 hours. After the 12 hours is up, your skin is literally radiant as the emulsified gold seeps from your pores. You literally glows. It''s bananas!

I have an in home spa set up because I like to have my services done there for the privacy and convience--the girl who works on me comes to my home bi-monthly and charges me about 250.00 for the facial. Now, mind you, while the mask is on, I recieve a massage. She''s worth her weight in gold--pun intended.

i love a good pedicure, but now i think i''m going to have to try this gold facial!! that sounds like so much fun!!

It is an absolute treat! I bought my BM''s one right before my wedding...and needless to say, they were totally into them. My best friend still comes into town just use my set up and see my girl...she''s that good!

I tried to buy the products for myself once, since I have a cosmo license and usually get a nice discount on professional products and they were incredibly expensive...I want to say a small jar, which was less than 4 ounces was like 1,500 big ones! And that was before shipping from India!

Oh Man...... ItaliaHaricolor...... I ENVY YOUR IN HOME SPA SET UP!

I''m a die hard spa fanatic and I get a facial every 4 weeks, and other treatments on a whim, but WOW what I would give to have a bi-monthly treatment in my won home!

Nice!

Hey - Lookin'' for a roommate????

My DH would probably give the whole thing to you given the chance ... he doesn''t share your affection for my mini spa, sadly. Oh well.

I''ve always justified my love for pampering by the fact that beauty is my business. I have to take care of myself because I''m a reflection of my job. I probably dont need one bi-monthly, truth be told
emembarrassed.gif
, but I love it. My girl is pretty amazing...she comes in the evening, after I''ve had dinner, and taken care of whatever I need to for the evening--she does my facial, and then I go to bed. I sleep really well.

Yeah... I''m working with about $100 for "spa day" ... so, I think the 24k gold facial is out- sounds divine, though! Maybe once I graduate, I can afford one!

I think a good pampering every so often is a necessity! I love the way I feel when I leave the spa- SOOOOO relaxed!

When I was in school, my pampering consisted of lathering my legs in Saint Ives apricot scub and shaving. Seriously. I couldn''t afford to go to a spa...and I didn''t have a wonder FF treating me, either.

LOL. When I was in school, pampering consisted of using my Body Shop scrub 2x per month in the shower and DIY pedicures using foot stuff from Bath and Body Works.

Now, I indulge in monthly pedi''s and facials every couple of months.

Never had any done professionally. Love it when J gives me a full body massage, though.
