I have my e-pics session in four (FOUR!) hours. Rushing out to get my hair/makeup done now.

Any tips on how to look your best during epics? Flattering poses? How to feel more comfortable in front of the camera?

Here''s the dresses I''m wearing:

Dress #1

Dress #2:

Woohoo!!

Our e-pics that came out the best were un-posed. FI and I just kept talking and laughing at eachother, and then would stop to smile when photog said stop talking.

ETA: If you are a drinker... have a glass of wine or a beer before hand.

(Not really for "loosening up", but more to just help you relax before.)

HAVE FUN!!!

good luck rockzilla!! i have my epics session this weekend too...i don''t mean to steal the thread for my own question, but looking at your dresses made me think of something! i love them...esp the ruffly one. i bought a strapless white eyelet dress from jcrew and my fiace is going to wear an aqua linen shirt with khaki shorts..they go together nicely, but does it look really dumb to wear white for your engagement pics?

You guys will be adorable! As meresal said - try to focus on each other and tune out the photog as much as you can - you will probably end up liking those pics the best

i have mine today, too.....good luck!

we''re having a drink beforehand and just going with the attitude of just having fun with it....we see it as a ''practice session'' to get used to being photographed before the big day.

im just wearing a simple black tank-dress for one spot
dress - express

then jeans and a white casual tank with ruffles along the top for the other...trying not to stress too hard about it but inside im a bit nervous!

mine is at 5pm....in a courtyard area first, then down to the beach for sunset shots and pier shots - its been cloudy so far but whatever the night brings it will bring....even if its windy i''ll just have to learn to deal.

rock, how did it go?

for us, it was quite windy and it drove me nuts that my hair was all over the place and thats all i could think about.

our photographer was very good, but she didnt give us much direction as far as what do sometimes (she wanted us to be natural) so we found ourselves just looking at each other alot and smiling....lol

honestly, my FI and i were sick of looking at each other after 2 hours!

hopefully she got some good shots despite my hair issues.

but....even if NONE come out well, the best thing is that it got us used to being photographed and taught us the importance of looking in the right places for pictures. our photog had a good point - she said it takes about 30 min to get used to being photographed and learning to relax and you dont want to be doing that on your wedding day

I think our engagement shoot went pretty well - he seemed to think there was good light and we spent about 2.5 hours getting photos. I guess we''ll see when the shots come back!

There were a few times were the sun was bothering me a little bit...the SoCal sun is BRIGHT! But overall I think it was good =)

where in so cal were you? we were in hermosa beach
