I received Asets back on two diamonds. Any thoughts on them? I've also included the information from the gemologist report.

I'm happy to say that diamond 259145 is an excellent option that that it had great fire, brilliance, and scintillation. Its bowtie is small and blends rather nicely. You definitely won't find the bowtie distracting from the overall beauty and brightness that the diamond possesses. Additionally, it has a higher/whiter "H" color and the gemologist found it to be the best option of the group. They also noted that the indented natural is very small and that the cavity on the crown is extremely tiny. It's completely eye clean and doesn’t have any durability concerns.

Diamond 265439 is bright and offers nice light performance, ranking second to diamond 259145. Its bowtie blends rather well, especially from certain angles. It has a true "F" color and you should view it as eye clean. Diamond 285969 ranks third for light performance and is eye clean, but the gemologist found its "I" color to have a slight brown tone to its color.

Diamond 259145 is definitely the way to go. I know that light performance is important to you and I believe you'll find this diamond to be very bright and eye catching when you see it in person. It comes highly recommended and it'll look fantastic in our pave halo and shank diamond engagement ring!

I was big on the 259145 from the get go, does anyone see any reason not to get it?

I hate to bring bad news but the very strong blue for me is a deal killer. It will look strange in daylight and if it is in a ring with other diamonds it will look even more out of place.

Hmm! When you say 'strange' in daylight what do you mean?

Quick story;

Had a friend tell me over the phone his mother in law's 3-stone ring looked funny to her. She would never wear it. It was three ovals the center stone was a 3 ct and the sides were 1 ct each. The center stone was a G color. Without seeing it, I suspected it was a very strong blue stone. When I got the ring I was correct. Because the 3 ct was a very strong blue and the side stones were no UVF, in daylight the center stone had a grayish look to it, she didn't know why but hated it. We sold the center stone and replaced with a G color without any UVF and she wears it all the time.

Gotta go and catch a train, Good Luck.

Strong blue can look different in each strong blue diamond and a lot of people seem to love theirs.
You seem very happy about the stone - why not have them send it out so you can see it in person?

Send for it and judge for yourself. Many around here, myself included, love fluor as long as there are no negative effects from it (oiliness / milkiness / haziness - which according to GIA, only happens in less than 0.2% of all stones that have fluor). You need to see it for yourself - you might like it!

Cheers,

I don't see a reason not to get it. The ASET looks good, and the gemologist agreed with your choice. I would think if the florescence was a problem, the gemologist would have commented. Congrats and good luck!
