I have “ummed and ahhhhed” many many months over which sapphire to set in the magnificent ballerina setting I bought for the purpose. I was so torn about splitting the matched pair of sapphires as a matched pair is a rare thing. By chance I stumbled across another sapphire ring at a price not to be overlooked. I have very much enjoyed wearing this ring. It is a nice sapphire so I decided to pull it out of its setting and put it in the ballerina setting.
so I’m trying to be patient as I wait.
here are the pair of sapphires I’m keeping as a pair.
the setting (with my ruby sitting in it - if only I could have grown that ruby up in size !!!!)
and the ring with the donor sapphire.41B4A645-4025-4AC5-8A8D-E833CE4E98CD.jpeg6AFC9BB5-080A-4216-B5C2-335D4BBF9217.jpeg3BFC2AC4-3B9D-434B-A996-A2CDCD337B44.jpeg

Nice find!

Any plans to hunt for something to go into the donor setting? ;)

Yes. This unusual cut OEC white sapphire, seen here in the ballerina setting. The size around 9mm is a fit but the sapphire has a big belly.19E9BBC4-DB28-49C3-868D-0FFF45ACB8F1.jpeg

The sapphire is going to look amazing in your ballerina setting! It’s also great that you didn’t have to break up your beautiful round sapphire pair!

Yay! Looking forward to see the result
