Finally found "the dress"

I believe I posted once before, but my name''s angie, and I have been on a (seemingly) unending quest for a wedding gown. I''ve tried on more than 100, at more than 10 different bridal salons.

I finally went back to one to try on a dress I had remembered liking.. then I found The dress! It was kind of a blissful accident. Its Pronovias Diamante, and its so simple and elegant. The pictures don''t do it justice ( for 1, the angle of the picture is horrible, for 2, its 4 sizes too small) So, use your imagination.

I was just so excited, I have to share! Now I just have to worry about purchasing it. The bridal salon wants 1480 + Tax, a bridal salon in Minnesota (4 hr drive) wants 1199 (no tax) and of course, I could keep my fingers crossed and order online for 950. We shall see. I''m leaning towards Minnesota.

I love Pronovais... I almost went with a gown very similar to yours.

Even with the sample being small, it still really shows of your great figure and looks fantastic...

Beautiful! Get your butt to Minnesota! Just remember you''ll probably have to drive 4 hours for every fitting unless you choose to use a different seamstress.

I''m thinking I''ll probably bring it down here when it comes in, but I actually lived in the twin cities until last november, and his parents are still up there, so its not horribly inconvinient for us, thankfully. There was a bridal shop here that was so incredibly nice to me, if they carried the line, I would ask them to order it in a heartbeat. I think I''ll get my accessories there, and get my dress altered there, too.

Hi Angie, and welcome to PS!!!

I personally love your dress, but I think that''s because the one I finally ordered from Casablanca is almost identical! I had the Pronovias picture in my notebook of ideas and it was one of my favorites, though well out of my price range and I wasn''t ever able to find it to try on.

Have you considered ordering it from Pearl''s Place or netbride.com? I got my gown for almost half of what the salons wanted for it from Pearl''s Place, and I believe Gypsy got her dress for a lot less from netbride, as well. Just a thought, and maybe she and some others will chime in about their experiences with both of these places.

Thanks so much ladies for all the sweet replies!! my wedding is not until April of 09, so I have plenty of time.I have been looking for dresses for a few months, I thought I''d fall in love a few times, but actually it didn''t happen that way, I would try on dress after dress after dress, and they would be fine, but just not the dress for me. I''m so happy to finally have that moment.


Unfortunately it seems like most of the online bridal places don''t carry pronovias. My dad will be buying my dress for me, but I really want to find the best deal possible.

I actually did try on the casablanca 1831, and did like it. Its a beautiful dress, but for some reason i just fell in love with the pronovias. I usually don''t have expensive taste.. so.. whoops?

I love it!!!!...but I am biased because I absolutely ADORE Pronovias!!!. Definitely try to go online! I found my San Ppatrick -part of Pronovias-) in RK Bridal for less than half of what the store wanted!!!. I don''t think RK carries Pronovias, but you could try preownedweddingdresses.com (not all used dresses!), pearlsplace, house of brides...or good old ebay

It's gorgeous! Did you try calling Pearl's Place? They do all their quotes over the phone, and I'm not sure they post all of the designers they carry on their website (designer's wishes most likely). Worth a quick call if you haven't! I got my dress from them for less than half of what the local bridal shop wanted.

Thanks for the pearlsplace suggestion, but unfortunately they don''t carry pronovias.. *sigh*. The only places I found that carry it are bridalgowns.net, and val collections (NO WAY!). So if I do go online, it will be with bridal gowns.net (for 959.00)
