Ok, so I finally got my butt around to asking the questions I needed to know before making an appointment to get measured and order my dress. I found out that I should be wearing shoes that have the same height as the ones I''ll wear.

So should I just wear a pair of shoes that I already own and then try and find wedding shoes with the same height? Or should I find my wedding shoes before going in to get measured so my choices aren''t restricted? What did you do?

Preferably I''d like to find something that covers the heel so I''m not getting the dress caught in there when I walk like I do with jeans and sandals, with an ankle strap because those are the kind that are most comfortable because I don''t have to worry about them slipping off my feet.

I love the look of peep toes but have never found a pair that I loved on ME. Something with a wedge or platform in the toe would be nice for comfort, but isn''t a deal breaker as I''ve had comfy shoes that are just regular pumps.

I really want a colored shoe, but don''t know what to go with. I suppose it doesn''t make much of a difference since no one will see my shoes unless I want them to..

This is the thread with pictures of me in the dress I''m ordering for reference.

My mom and I are going to go look around a bit this Friday, but maybe some of you wonderful ladies have suggestions of shoes you think will look good with the dress? It doesn''t HAVE to be in a "crazy" color, but it helps because it goes with my personality :) I don''t really want to go over $50-75 since my dress was already twice what I wanted to spend, and I''d rather spend "extra" money on our wedding rings.

Of course, all these restrictions might make it impossible for me to find a shoe I like! So really the main points are comfort, to stay under $75 and I''d like to have somewhat of a heel cause FI loves it when I wear my heels and I''m closer to his height, makes kisses even easier, lol.

I would wear shoes that are the same height as the ones you plan to wear. Speaking of height, what height heel would you like? We could help you look.

Tell us what height you are looking at, any special restrictions (small feet, wide feet, etc) and anything we should know and I will start looking right away.

I have to tell you Brazen is an awesome shoe shopper. I was hopping you would chime in.

Well, I have a pair of shoes that FI likes the height of and I''d say they''re about 4 inches. But they are wedges with about an inch under the toe...

It doesn''t HAVE to be a wedge, but it definitely helps with the comfort thing. I''d say though in any case, I''d like it keep it no more than 4 inches (though for the right shoe I might be willing

) because that puts me at a nice height next to FI. :)

I''d prefer that it has some kind of ankle strap to help keep it on my foot though, other than that it''s kinda up in the air. I''m so indecisive

I gotta go grab something to eat with FI right now, but maybe I''ll think of some more things to narrow it down!

Ooh! I particularly like the Nina ''Olinda'' Peep Toe Pump you posted if I could nix the bow... but unfortunately though I love the look of peep toed shoes I''ve never found a pair I love on me, they usually look awful on me and hurt my toes

It makes me sad because I so love that look! Maybe I''ll have to find these in the store and they''ll be the pair that I can finally wear!

Otherwise, like I said my mom and I are going out hunting for some shoes this afternoon, I just don''t know that we''ll have much luck. :/

Thanks for all the suggestions!! You''re great at finding shoes :)

OK, thanks for all the suggestions ladies! I found a few different contenders on my trip with my mom, and I do have pictures but they''re from my cell phone so kinda crappy, and they''re on my laptop which will not turn back on for me right now, grr! But I did end up buying one of the pairs because it was one of two out of 4-5 pairs that didn''t need anything done to them... meaning no toe pads, heel pads, etc.

They''re actually a pair that I found online a while ago at Zappos that I didn''t want to order yet till I looked in stores a bit, I know they have free shipping both ways, but well, I''m just weird. hehe. So I ended up buying them in the store, but I''m not 100% sure I''m going to keep them. I always get buyers remorse after nearly everything I buy, so I''m going to keep them for a few days and see how I''m feeling about them.

They are this pair shown here (in blue leather) from Steve Madden

I''m usually an 8 or 8 1/2, but in these I got a 9 and they seem to be perfect. Theres just one part that feels a tad uncomfortable but I think that it''ll go away once the shoes are a bit worn in... thats one of my main reasons for not being 100% on them. The other reason is that I''m one of those who wonders if something better is going to come along... but I got them from Boston Store and the guy said as long as I have the receipt and they haven''t been worn outside, I can return them anytime. So at least if I''m out one day and find another pair I love more that has the same heel height, I can switch. But for now I''ve got these and it''s what I''ll get measured in because I don''t want to put ordering off the dress any longer. They aren''t too tall, but they''re tall enough!

Oh oh! I almost forgot, one of the contenders was the ONLY pair of peep toed shoes I''ve ever found that looked good on me!! I was so excited, but it had that stupid heel strap that never stays on my foot and I couldn''t stand it, so it''s a ultimately a no go
