I didn't halo it peeps!!!! It's a miracle! Setting bought from a brick and mortar for approx $650 usd in Australia, 18k white gold, setting price included. I thought I'd add the price to be helpful! Not cheap but instant gratification ;)2

I tried it with rose gold and it looked quite terrible. Clashed majorly.

Omg Mellowyellowgirl, you are prolific! I am so bad, I take years to set things and end up tearing them apart anyways. You did a great job, the spinel looks great on you!!!

Oh my god it is so lovely! Beautifully done :)

Thanks ladies!

I have found a place where they sell trays and trays of settings and have a jeweller who seems to know what he's doing. Best of all they seem to know coloured stones enough to appreciate all the stones I bring in but don't make silly comments about my stones!

I figured I could go EBay but I didn't feel like the drama of it all right now!

I’m so jealous, that you have a jeweler with trays of settings!!! I need also 2 settings for my zircon and garnet!!!:cry2:

I like the setting, not everything needs a halo! The price was also good I think! It looks really lovely!

I really like the setting! The ring looks beautiful on you!! Enjoy it in good health. :appl:

Wonderful setting!

(P.S. and your bracelet is simply to die for)

Aww thank you! I have so much trouble deciding on bracelets/bangles because they all tempt me! This one has served me well. I wear it soooo often!

I will admit it is handy to be able to access these quick ready made settings. I think they all come from China but I like the fact that I can examine them in real life so no funny surprises. I am slowly working my way to being braver and letting them set softer stones.

The temptation to wear the ring is too large for me to resist so I march off and wack it into a setting even though I'm supposed to save my setting funds right now!

:love::love::love::love::love::love::love: Gorgeous!!

Your ring is beautiful! The spinel is so pretty and delicicate! You are lucky to find a place with such beautiful ready made settings. And may I say, oh my gosh your bracelet! :-o

GREAT match of stone and setting!! I really like it. Hopefully you'll post more photos. Please. =)2

Beautiful new setting (even if it isn't a halo).:lol:
I love the twisty shank. It's a really lovely design element.

Thank you for sharing the price of the setting. It seems like a decent price and it was ready to be worn immediately, which you, can't beat. :D Depending on what you paid for the spinel, your new ring may qualify for the $1250 and under thread.

Pretty! Looks great on your hand.

I was trying SO hard not to run to a halo right away! Hubby was next to me raising his eyebrows through the roof everytime I went to a halo!

Thanks for reminding me about the less than $1250 thread! Will post in it now! I was worried it was tacky to post the price but we all have so many stones to set I find it really useful to see what settings people get at whatever price!

I appreciate when people post prices. That's one of my favorite parts of the $1250 and under thread. It's more open and it gives me an idea of what I should expect to pay for certain settings. :D

Beautiful ring! You're quickly building up an enviable colored stone ring collection.

I’m in Sydney, where is this marvelous jeweller?
My guy just wants to “build from scratch and charge an arm, leg and kidney!l

I trust their guy with coloured stones! Be prepared to bargain but I think you'll be even better than me. Lol I don't have the energy for it sometimes! It's like a sport!

That entire stretch has some stores with lots of settings so go forth and look around!

There is a store 3 doors down from them that seems decent as well. Going to try them for my Chrysoprase after Lunar New year!

Aww thank you! I am still chasing all the shades of green! Just need to stop getting distracted along the way!

Thank you.
Many years ago I bought some 24kt gold down there in China town. They sold their bracelets etc by weight. I wore them and then tired of them. I sold them, by weight, and made hundreds of dollars on each thanks to rising gold prices! I understand why lots of people like to have some savings in real gold, you can enjoy it, then sell it!
I’ve got a few dozen gems that could be set if I had the money, so I’d better be careful when I visit.

@chatoyancy and @Arkteia thank you for the bracelet love! I remember deciding on that size or smaller main stones. Hehe in the end I couldn't resist the bigger diamonds and I'm glad I went for it!

@Bron357 I have bought so much 22kt stuff from Poh Heng in Singapore back in the day. They tell you how much the design cost is (usually around $100 on the pieces I bought) and then charge you design cost plus weight. I have just sold one piece to fund my new coloured stone habit! No one needs 3, 22kt bangles was my rationale!

If you have round stones to set and are prepared to deal with annoying people you can even visit Cabramatta! I know a shop there with even cheaper settings with BIG sparkly melee but mainly for rounds and they are as annoying as heck to deal with!

GREAT match of stone and setting!! I really like it. Hopefully you'll post more photos. Please. =)2

I was at a chaotic Macca's birthday party today and took some time out to take a few pics! Excuse the dry hands! I am very happy with how this stone manages to go with a lot of my dresses! It's not a colour that clashes so can be worn with most things!

I love this ring! I've worn it so much the last few days. For some reason on this cloudy day today it's shifted a warm pink. My camera isn't capturing it but it's lovely!

This is such a gorgeous shade of pink. I love it!

Such a pretty ring! Looks great on you!

Today I tried on a “Gabriel and Company” stacking band that looked just like the shank of your band. It truly is a beautiful style. Glad you are continuing to enjoy it!
