Yeah, I like that. I wonder how something like that would look with my ring. Hmm. I wonder if 3mm is too wide. I like thin; I may end up with a plain band because of that.

I guess I''m prejudiced, ''cause I love my Facets band, but I bet this would look really pretty with your ring - it''s an 11 stone .33 tcw, and it''s just under 2mm wide:

Can I just tell you all how much I love my Paul?

He is so cute. I had been talking about how to get my ring cleaned, and how I wasn''t sure which cleaner to use, and the like. He told me when I took my ring off to get in the shower that he''d go get it cleaned at the jewelry store. I was all hyper excited about it.

When he gets back, he has NO ring. Says they said it''d take a while, and that he left it there! I was like, WHAT?? Anyway, to get my mind off it, he says we should just go for a drive. Totally like him. He loves to drive around and see new places and all that. So, he assured me I''d have it back soon, and I calm down. We end up going to Pilot Mountain, up to the top, the overhang. And out of no where, he drops to his knee and asks me again. Talk about a surprise!

It ends up that I was using the Macro mode, but was taking the pictures WAY too close to the ring. So, now I know how to do it. Wanna see my beautiful, sparkly, wonderful tulip?? I''m downloading pictures from my camera now.
 
I''m soooo excited!! Finally, some pictures!! I''ve been waiting to see some good shots, for what over 2 weeks now?!! Yay!!
 
This shows the TULIP perfectly. It also shows the warmth of the diamond, but face up, it's nothing but SPARKLY white with TONS of glimmers of pinks, greens, blues, purples. Pretty pretty is all I can say.

LOOKS just like Water Lily, huh?

That pocketwatch is beautiful. I don't remember seeing any pictures of it earlier. Oh, and of course, your ring is beautiful too.
 
This is still REALLY hard for me. I keep getting that my pictures are too big, and by the time I shrink them down, they''re grainy. I''ll keep trying, though.

Thanks, Seattle. I posted oodles of pictures of his *engagement ring* when I first got it for him in May; it has his initials on the front and on the back it says, "let''s cherish every moment" and it has room for our engagement date to be added to it, and there is a picture of us inside the front cover. He loves it.

I bet you love that word ''fiance''. It sounds wonderful. Everytime I run into an old friend or he does, I just feel soo stupid being introduced as his girlfriend or telling friends that we are still together without telling that we are engaged. I can''t say, "well, we''re almost engaged." That''s silly.

I''ll have to go back and refresh my memory, I''m sure I''ve seen them, but maybe it was during my crazy Anniversary Sale days when I was working all hours of the day.

I feel for you about the missing thing. Now that my bf has finished the Bar (which was enough time away from him as is) , he is making sure he is putting his free time to good use. He is in Portland this weekend. (Yes, he was just in SF a week ago)

Well, I guess on the bright side, it gives you some good QT with your ring and your camera. Practice makes perfect!!
 
Seattle, I hear you on the odd time in knowing it''s coming, but not being able to use the new *term* yet. I was surprised when Paul told me he told his new co-workers at his new school that he had a *fiancee* before we were! Even if by a couple weeks, it was still a surprise. He said it just felt funny calling me his girlfriend, because I''m so much more than that to him. It was cute.

I realized for the first time here in the past little bit that I''m not a girlfriend anymore. It actually made me cry, like a phase of our lives is gone now. He chuckled a little when I got emotional about it, but then said I can be his lifelong girlfriend, too. Yay! I''m all about being a girlfriend *AND* a wife! A girlfriend for life but not a wife, not so much.

I think I got a pretty good handshot, now I''m trying to get my camera to download it right. I''m surprised by how big the diamond looks on my finger. It really is bigger than I expected. Paul says he''s still amazed by how small the diamond looked in the box and how much bigger it becomes on my "lil'' ol" finger. He also swears it sparkles more on my finger than off. I told him that''s because it knows where it belongs, and where its home is. He says he never knew inadamant objects had so many thoughts and feelings. Silly boy. Diamonds are something different!

Fisher, how wonderful that you, too, got a "second proposal" -- gotta love our guys! Matt was calling me his fiancee to people he worked with for the same reasons Paul called you that, but I never used the term before we were actually engaged -- we women are superstitious or something!

Anyway, I LOVE the pics -- the tulip head is gorgeous and I love his pocketwatch too -- keep the pics coming!

My favorite is the one of us hand in hand, and then the one of our *engagement rings* paired together.
 
I just love seeing pictures of this ring, Jen. It''s so beautiful. I get so excited for you every time I see it. You two are going to be a very happy couple together forever.

FI and I did our pre-marital survey thingie recently. I remember when you talked about it before and I am anxious to see what complete weirdoes we are.

Taking pictures is sooo addictive, isn''t it?? I wish I had a camera!!
 
So, I had this idea. I''m thinking of seeing if I can find a THIN band that has tiny diamonds and tiny emeralds, because that''s Paul''s birthstone. Do you think that''d be tacky looking with my ring? I mean, honestly. I can take it.
 
I dunno... I guess you''d have to try it and see for yourself!
 
Hmm, I don''t know where to find a wedding band like that. I''ve seen sapphire, but not emerald.
 
You could get a general idea of how it would look by trying on the sapphire band. I don't think it would be tacky at all--just a matter of personal taste. You'd probably either really like it or think "ick, never mind".

Of course, emeralds are not the most durable stones, but for little ones maybe that wouldn't be a big issue.
