I had no idea emeralds aren''t durable. I''m thinking, in my head, anyway, of a rounded band, with the stones lying even with the metal. Maybe kind of separated out a bit. I don''t know. I just thought it''d be cute, perhaps. I''d LOVE to have both of our birthstones, but I''m a November baby and orange/yellow and emerald green just aren''t good friends, in my opinion.

I posted flower shots yesterday (Show me the Ring). It''s raining today, but I''m still hoping to figure out how to get the clear, crisp picture of the diamond. Any suggestions? Should I take it a certain distance from the diamond, then zoom in with the computer program, later? Maybe my camera just can''t do it. I''ve been trying for what seems like forever now.

Okay, I know we shouldn''t double post pictures all the time on different threads, but I''m crazy happy that I finally got a picture that does SOME justice to the beauty of a ring I have. The diamond POPS in this picture, and you can even see a tiny bit of the arrows. It''s so pretty! Have I mentioned how much I love the ring Paul worked so hard to find and earn for me?

I totally feel like a *real* fiancee today because we got our FIRST engagement present! How fun is that? A dear friend from work got us a scrapbook (I''m obsessed with scrapbooking!!) that has a wedding cake on the front and a slot that came with stickers to spell out what will be my NEW LAST NAME! Needless to say, I spent a good 10-15 minutes doing that at work this afternoon. It looks just wonderful! I''m so excited to fill it up with engagement stuff and wedding planning, then with wedding and HONEYMOON pictures!

Oooh, and guess what else? *I''m CRAZY hyper excited right now, in case you can''t tell* I went and got some of the stuff for our center pieces today, and it''s all going to come together SO beautifully, I believe. Yay! Since it''s going to be a winter wedding now, Jan 07, it makes much more sense to have the colors I''ve dreamed of for SO long, but had let go of because we THOUGHT we''d have an autumn wedding. So, it''s back to that pretty, soft, violety purple and beautifully muted pewter. How lovely are those colors together? I simply can''t wait! Yay!!

Oooh again. I also purchased my very FIRST lingerie EVER this afternoon! I''m SO hyper excited for our wedding night, but I felt like a whore looking for such things before we were engaged, so today I worked through lunch so I could leave early and I went off to do engaged people things! It was fun! I told Paul what I''d bought, but he was like, "don''t tell me about it, I want it to be a surprise." He''s so cute. Anyway, unless I get something prettier as a gift, I think that''s what I''ll wear on ou first honeymoon night. It has a silky robe and it''s just SO pretty!

It all feels so *R*E*A*L* now, you know? What a blessing! I get to marry this man and walk through life with him, knowing he''ll be there with me, good and bad, joy and sorrows alike. Life is precious, life is sweet!!

I forgot to add that I also looked at wedding bands; I''m not digging the plain band thing. Heehee. I''m also not digging how so many of the bands with diamonds aren''t rounded off, like my engagement ring. I don''t like the flat surface. hmm, we''ll see what ends up happening.

Rings also don''t sit flush with my ring, since the tulip head was sunken down into the shank. Oh well. It''s a very minor gap, and I think once I had a ring sized right and not too small, it''d be less noticeable.

Hey fisher! It''s been sooo fun following your story and now seeing your ring pics and hearing your excitement being engaged!

You seem like such a warm friendly person. Lol about your comments re: the lingerie! Wooohoo! How fun is that?!! You have so much to look forward to with all of the planning, the wedding, honeymoon, just living in the same place! It''s great to get to share in your excitement. Please keep trying with those pics - love love love to see them! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and stories with all of us

Fishie!

Just wanted to let you know that Blenheim and I finally made it to IKEA together yesterday!

I wish we all lived closer, would''ve been fun to have a much larger group of PSers with us. We had a great time and got some awesome stuff. Blenheim kept staring at my ring during lunch, but I didn''t mind because after all, she was an acquaintance from a diamond website.

I was staring at hers too! Her ring is soooooo lovely in person! It''s got some serious FIRE.

We were discussing wedding band options, too. I am, like you, still undecided on what to get, and I have yet to get out and try on a few styles. I think I may go with a plain band for my wedding next summer, and then in a few years (if I am very, very good

) I''ll see about getting a band set with diamonds. I''ve been taking my engagement ring off so much for different things, and I feel like I really want one solid metal band that can stay on without worries.

How is Paul doing with school so far? He probably is already back or close to starting up again. I got my schedule and rosters recently and things look good this year so far. I have already had a ton of inservice days this summer, so I feel like I''ve already gone back to school. One more today and two more next week and then the kids arrive Wednesday. I get to set up my new IKEA easel for my speech class, they''ll love presenting on one that doesn''t spit posters to the floor like the one we were borrowing from last year.

Equ,

It''s so good to hear from you! I''m glad you and Blenheim had fun at Ikea; I''m looking forward to living close to one again. What fun, fun!! I bet you two got along well, you both seem so sweet.

I found out today that the GYM has AWESOME lighting, even though I should have had my ring in my locker, or at the office. I forgot the cute little velvety pouch Paul gave me to keep it in on gym days, so I wore it and just didn''t do any hand weights today. Those lights were something else! I about had a fit, wiggling my finger around. It still makes me smile; I think it will for life. Eeek!

As for bands, yeah, we may just do plain, or I may just be bandless until I find one I like. I don''t know. The one time I looked, I was disappointed, but Paul and I will go out together and see what we find. I still sort of want us to have matching bands, but seeing that he thinks he likes yellow gold, that may not end up being a reality.

Thanks so much for the post today; I had a pretty grrry day in general, and it was good to hear from an "old friend." Hee hee.

Did you order that braclet yet?

My sweetie wants a two toned ring, one that will match the watch I gave him on his college graduation. We haven''t even thought about whether or not he wants to match or no, but I think ours will not be a matched set. I am excited to have him go try on some rings sometime soon.

No, no bracelets yet. I did see my ponies today though, something I REALLY needed with this week being so dreadfully emotional. I can get lost conditioning a tail or brushing a flank for hours, and I did. I needed some equine therapy. My uncle will be leaving us soon, and I told my mother that I would accompany her up to Midland tomorrow because she wants to see him and our family again. FI and I were supposed to meet with a DJ tomorrow night, but I can''t make it there now because of the timing of the trip up to the hospital. I absolutely have to be there for my mother and the rest of my family tomorrow. Maybe he can call me on my cell phone if he needs help with the appointment and I can talk to them on speaker?

I also talked to a friend of mine for about two hours about getting ready for school, organizational stuff and first week activities. This is the BF/bridesmaid who just moved to Maryland, and she''s trying to get her classroom together to be ready for teaching French I next week. It was nice to hear from her, and she sounded pretty excited about the kids starting next week. She''s never taught stateside before, but she''ll do just fine, I''m sure.

I hope tomorrow goes better for you.
