That USPS doesn''t let me down, because I just shipped my stone back to WF for my custom halo setting! YAY!!!

My finger is very sad and lonely right now, but I am SUPER excited about my new setting!!! I am also a little nervous, because of what happened last time I sent something to WF. I keep telling myself that it will be fine, and Lesley was very reassuring, but if this stone gets lost for nearly 3 weeks, I may have an aneurysm!!!

They can''t start work on the setting until the stone gets there, so I probably won''t have it back for about 3 weeks. I think I am going to wear my grandma''s ring in the meantime, so I am not completely ring-less.

For those who are interested, here''s my stone (1.31 D SI2 Cushion Brilliant) in its temp setting:

What halo setting are you having done? I know it''s custom but can you give us a description?

I hope the stone gets there quickly!!! It''s always nerve wracking to send such a precious item!!!

Don''t worry, I''m sure it will be fine (although I bet you''ll be holding your breath every second until they call and tell you the package has arrived). And yes, pics or a description please of that halo design!

he he...and I thought I could get away without providing details. I should know better by now. Here''s a sort of inspiration collage. I am combining elements from all of these rings. And my order confirmation says this:

"CUSTOM Platinum halo ring featuring approx 22 x 1.1mm in halo and 16 x 1.5mm in shank. Thin rounded shank with the shank connecting to the halo at a curvy angle. Ring size 6.75" and it will be bezel set. The diamonds on the shank are going to just cover the shoulders so that I only feel smooth platinum against my other fingers.

I am a little nervous about the ring size, as I don''t want to have to send it back again. My temp setting is a 6.5, but I feel like it is a little snug. And I think the rounded/comfort fit shank fits a little tighter, so I decided to go up a 1/4 size. Do you guys think that will make it too loose? Maybe I should keep it at 6.5?

I love that top picture!!!! YUMMO!!!!

If it's snug, I wouldn't hesitate to go up 1/4 size. However, it is summer - are your fingers swollen? If so, going up in size might make the ring too loose in the winter.

How about just a 6.5+ if it's just a little snug.
It's summer now - and it should be snug this time of year, right?
Your ideas collage looks great - can't wait to see the finished project.
Are you going to do a little "skirt" on your halo? (I like those - much more finished and high end IMO.)
The stone is *Gorgeous* Fatafelice! Happy waiting. Hope all goes smoothly.

Scintillating....

Thanks, guys!

FG: Well, they might be a little swollen, but it felt snug when I got it in late May, and they were less swollen then, I would think. I''ve noticed lately that when I take it off, there is a pink impression left on my finger where the ring was, which doesn''t seem neccessary. That being said, I don''t normally have a problem getting it off and on, so I don''t think it is too tight. I was just hoping that another 1/4 size would give me some wiggle room. I don''t mind when I have rings that spin a little, I just don''t want it to be so loose that it is in danger of slipping off.

Another though...IF I actually lose the 30 or so pounds I''d like to before the wedding, do you think that will have much impact on my finger size? Obviously I am going to get what fits now, since who knows how much I will actually lose. But has anyone had any experience with weight vs. ring size?

Scintillating: By "skirt" do you mean pave around the sides of the halo, like Liz''s ring in the collage (bottom right)? I think I am not going to have that because I am trying to keep the halo as small as possible and as clean of lines as possible. I did go back and forth on it, though, as I adore Liz''s setting -- she even made me rethink the bezel!

Fata - I lost 45 pounds in the last year and went from a size 5.5 to a 4.5, I dropped a full size - I couldn't believe I lost so much weight in my finger. It was crazy.

I think you have to just go with what fits you now - and deal with sizing issues as they come along. Doing 1/2 pave will better easier/better for sizing that full pave - I think. Just make sure when you have it sized you let WF do it.

Wow, that is a big difference! But, yes, that is part of the reason I am only doing pave less than 1/2-way down -- I don''t want any sizing problems in the future.

I AM SO EXCITED THAT MY RING PIC WAS USED FOR INSPIRATION! No one has ever said that before. Thanks

You definitely lose weight in your fingers when you lose weight. (Also your shoe size gets smaller!) It''s really weird.

I bet this setting will be gorgeous!!!!!
