First Dance too risque?

So FI and I decided on this song for our first dance "Nora Jones - Turn me On"

It is a song from Love Actually when these two lovebirds dance at the company party. For those of you who do not know it, you can go to this link and listen to it

I think that a fan did the artwork for it or something lol.

Anyway, i think that it is a great song but FI had some resevations about the lyrics. I never got anything overly sexual about them and i doubt people that have never heard the song before would even notice. but then i saw that whole list of outlawed songs and people are not even allowing anythign with sexual undertones be played at the wedding let alone be their first dance.

I adore this song and think the music and length is perfect. Not to mention it is from what i consider to be oe of the most romantic parts of my favorite movie!

DO you all think that it is too risque?

I should probably say there will be noone under the age of 25 at our wedding and of the few elderly people (his grandparents and my grandmother) i think we have heard more risque things out of their mouths. As for the rest of the guest (including parents) i KNOW we have

I think the vital part is "that you''re the only one that can turn me BACK on". I think that the song is talking about the fact that he is the only one that makes her feel alive. Not so much sexual. But that could just be my take on it. I personally love the song, and the movie, and if you want that as your first dance song then go for it.

I think its great. My friend went to a wedding where this was the first dance song and she said it was really cute. Because of the style of music, I think it really tasteful.

I think it is a nice song. Well..... DH and I were married in 1981. One of the songs that were played by a DJ was by Rod Steward, "Do ya think I''m Sexy" We just thought it was a good dancing song. LOL

See thats how i felt about the song turn me on like make me be in love kind of turn me on. Brighten my life sort of thing. maybe im just naive lol

By the way, i think rod stewarts song is a great dancing song.

Apparently i am going to have the lewd wedding because i cant see myself cutting out those goodies with the dirty lyrics. Hell, i would have to eliminate half the black eyed peas songs!

I think that''s a great song! I love Nora Jones. I''m thinking of her cover of "Love Me Tender" for our first dance. Of course, he has to propose before I really need to figure it out for sure. He picked "good morning beautiful" as "our song" but I think that might be a little risque for our very conservative families.

I know of a couple who had their first dance to "Let''s Get it On" by Marvin Gaye. Now, there is no "inferring" about that one!!

I think it''s a great song! I knew it as a Nina Simone song before Norah did it. I don''t think that anybody could be offended by choosing this song as you can explain the lyrics both ways.

I know someone that had that as their first dance too! It was interesting cause you could hear people chuckle around the room once they heard what the song was, hehe.

Anywho, I think that Turn Me On is a lovely song for a first dance, and if people are taking it the wrong way it's because they probably have dirty minds!

We've been trying to figure out what to use as our first dance, but the only one FI likes so far is Big and Rich's Lost In This Moment. I think this one is lovely and I'm going to suggest it to him when he gets home.
