I''m starting to think about the flowers!

For my bouquet, I''m thinking white roses, bells or Ireland, white stock...does that sound like it could be nice? Do you think it will be too white against my ivory dress? I don''t like anything too vivid/bright...I''m more drawn to subtle colors.
For my centerpieces I''m thinking mostly white, with some muted orange/pink accents. Does anybody know which flower this is?

Some kind of Dahlia maybe? I did a google image search. Seems like it may be. I'm no flower expert by any means though.

It''s a Dalia. Would you like flower ideas and pics for all white, I''ve got some I"d be happy to post for you. What''s your date? It''ll help narrow flower choices.

Edit: It does seem like a dahlia (they come in tons of colors!) very pretty!

Your bouquet sounds a bit similar to mine: I am thinking hydrangea, larkspur, and bells of Ireland. I just adore bells of Ireland. The hydrangea will be variegated pink/cream and the larkspur pink (I think). I''ve never seen a photo of the bouquet I envision. I''m hoping it''ll turn out nice, too! Not sure if it''ll be too much pink...

What you describe in white shades sounds nice to me.

Thanks, guys...the Dahlia sounds expensive...but isn''t it just gorgeous?

And Gypsy...YES! I saw what you did for Mimzy! Thank you!

My wedding is June 17, 2008, but it''s in Mexico. Here are some of the flowers they told me are going to be on the more inexpensive end of the scale:
carnations, daisies, mums, tuberose, bird of paradise, gladiolus, alstromeria, and gerbera daisies. Right now I''m leaning towards doing something with large mums and roses because I tend to like wide/low/fat types of arrangements rather than long/tall/lean...but I''d love to see some other ideas that could work, so don''t hold back! haha

melpla, the same dress AND similar flower arrangements!

I know, I''m nervous about seeing what the florist actually puts together. My #1 priority is that the flowers be absolutely fresh though...nothing worse than an arrangement where some of the flowers look bruised, even if slightly...

Claudinam--you have excellent taste!!

I''d start a new thread about this, rather than jack this one LHSM... also, it has been asked before so you can do a search. : )

Can''t wait, Gypsy! Thanks!

Gypsy, I think you forgot about me!

I didn't honey. I came home. Napped. Did some more work. Then started posting here. You were next on my list. I'm having trouble uploading pics to PS... but I"m gonna keep trying.

You want whites and ivories with tiny hints of orangepinks? How do you feel about hints of yellow, like a mellow yellow?

I love the stock, bells of ireland and white roses. When are you getting married honey? What season and month?

Oh you are so nice...do it when you can. Yes, cream/ivory/white with hints of orange...and I am definitely open to hints of yellow, too...even hints of pink...or even pinks and oranges together...

And by the way, what is your cat''s name? He/she''s cutie...

You could replace the yellow in this centerpeice with pink or orange accents like pink or orange fresia instead of yellow and either pink wax flower or orange ornithagalum ( http://www.easytogrowbulbs.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=294 ) which are both small delicate filler flowers that can be clustered delicately in with the ivory/white.

HAH! It allowed me to upload the pic! YAY! Anyway, I like the soft green in here too. Subtle but adds contrast and definition.

I love this bouquet because it''s a light yellow Ivory, so I wanted to post it. But it needs a spring wedding and a really talented florist with patience. Still... it''s so pretty and feminine.

This is more along the lines of what I think you were going for though. It has soft pinks in it.. .but all the flowers in here could be done in a white for a mono-chromatic look. light pink orchids, snaps, white veronica, stock. It''s a little wild flowery and light in looks.

ARGH it''s not letting me post it.

Ahh hah! got it to post.

This is my favorite EVER "classic" bridal bouquet. light peach roses, and callas and lilly of the valley. You need a spring wedding as those lovely and BEAUTIFUL lilly of the valley are PRICEY AS ALL GET OUT outside of season. Still they are my favorite wedding flower. Period. The other flowers in teh bouquet are fine year round, so if you were really in love with the look you COULD do it out of season. I would expect this bouquet to cost over 200.. closer to 300 out of season though. I just thought I'd post it. Because I love it so much.

Wide low flat centerpieces .... well the ones I posted could be totally done with mums and dalias and so fort h with bells of ireland for the green in June in Mexico. I definitely think orange. Snap dragons are usually available. They come in pinks and oranges as accents to the centerpieces but orange is more mexico to me.

That is SO pretty! (I just saw someone yesterday mentioning their colors were ivory (?) and yellow and navy...pretty). Love those flowers!

I saw this subtle color one too...

I love the stock, bells of ireland and white roses.
Ditto!

Lovely, white inexpensive centerpiece that could be highlighted with either pink or orange as an accent color.

Monnie, if I ever win the lottery I''ll go back to school for extensive floral design courses and do just that. I''d love to. But alas, I''m stuck in contracts land and helping BIW with their colors and flowers is my only real creative outlet. And I enjoy it.

Gypsy, thank you thank you thank you! I like all of them, but really love the one with the soft pinks...I also like the idea of orange because it just goes so beautifully against the browns and blues of Mexico...so I may end up with a combination of the two...

I just noticed that I had never seen your post about you loving the bells of ireland, stock, and white roses...I''m glad to hear you love the idea...
