... which do you find you wear more??

I've been contemplating some 1.04ctw H&A studs, but am loving all of these beautiful huggies that are cropping up on PS. You ladies have the most exquisite taste!! Now I'm wondering whether or not to go for some 2ctw(ish) huggies (roughly the same price as studs, give or take). I bought a tennis bracelet from IDJ last year and know I'd be thrilled with the quality of their earring melee, but my Ering diamonds are BDG signature, so maybe I should stick with those, as studs? The studs would be white gold as all I can see is the prongs, but most of my stuff is yellow gold, so do you think white gold huggies would look out of place? I wonder if they could be done in two tone, so the back part in yellow but the front and prongs in white gold?! These are for pretty much everyday wear... I'm a scrub nurse, so earrings are the only chance I have to bling myself out on a daily basis!

I can't decide!! Halp!

I find that I wear my 1.70 huggie hoops more often. I also have .75 ctw Asscher studs. One reason that I wear the huggies more often is that I have a double piercing in my left ear. The 2 piercings are too close together so when I wear my Asschers, I have to take out my tiny diamond extra stud. It takes more time. Really, that's the reason why I tend to wear my huggies more often - I can leave my tiny diamond stud in and go! Also, for some reason, my huggies get noticed more often - especially when I wear my hair up.

Off topic but I'd really love to see those Asscher studs! They are on my "wish list" but I don't have a lot of visual references for size etc because they are SO DARN RARE AROUND HERE! Grrrrr.

Thanks, Decodelighted. I only have one crummy photo of them, black background, but I'll attach the vendor photos, as well. I'll have to get an ear shot for you. They are F/VS2, set in 14kt WG. The settings are claw prong and I love them. They let in so much light from the sides.

I have diamond studs and diamond hoop earrings (not huggies). I find i wear the diamond studs much more often. I like the diamond hoops, but I just don't think they're as versatile or as comfortable to wear as diamond studs, so I find myself putting the diamond studs in almost every day, and saving the diamond hoops for special occasions.

I too have diamond studs and hoops (smallish) and I rarely wear the hoops. I just find them to be so blingy!
Huggies are different. I have a pair of yellow gold huggies with a few tiny diamonds on them and wear them when I wear my yellow gold jewelry on a daily- I just find myself wearing white gold more often. I think they're very versatile. I think you should go for it!

For everyday I have been wearing my huggies as they are very comfortable and just look "sportier" to me if you get what I mean. I save my studs if I am getting dressed up (not to dressed up). For some reason I am so happy when I get to take those studs off. I often forget I have the huggies in my ears.

To me, the studs are a staple and huggies are on the wishlist. I want some, too, but I am wondering if I can deal with the diamond quality in the huggies aside from BG and WF. But I am having trouble justifying the price just to get H&A stones. Ugh!!! I am thinking about the 1.5 ct. huggies, so I guess it would be best to get some quotes. Good luck on your decision!

Thanks Tanzigrrl! For some reason I can't see the "real" picture though ... shoot! James Allen sells super teensy tiny Asscher studs in a four prong basket setting (.25 TCW for $375) I fear they'd look ridiculous on my floppy pudgy dumbo ears. Especially since I'm "used" to .65 TCW *bezel* set OEC's. In my dream world I'd have 1.00 TCW *bezeled* asscher studs. Is it too early to go to sleep? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ



ETA: And, in answer to the ORIGINAL QUESTION (Bad Deco!) The huggies I have don't really count as diamond huggies, because they just have a few scattered gypsy set stones in a brushed satin white gold huggie hoop base. BUT, I've been wearing them a bit more often than my bezel studs --- ever since a brush with losing a stud! GAH! I found it though. Well, my pup found it. Thank goodness DH got it from her before she swallowed it. That would have been a catastrophe, mostly for the lil sweetie girl. SHUDDER. Before that though I wore the studs all the time. With blingier huggies -- I'm guessing I'd wear the huggies more. So I'm not much help! Why did I even answer. LOL

Studs! I am a dental hygienist and one day I lost a hoop putting on a surgical mask. I didn't realize it till later that day and nearly had a heart attack! Lucky me it fell into my scrub pocket and I found it at the end of the day but no more hoops at work for me, in fact I am afraid to wear my hoops almost anywear for fear of one falling off! I know they are insured but still, $1000 down the drain is still too much to lose.

I got the tiny BGD huggies as a Christmas gift and wear them nearly every day. Although the TCW is smaller than my studs, they get so many compliments. I wore diamond or pear studs every day for years and these are a lovely, unobtrusive change - I don't find them getting caught on phones, hair, hands, etc., like I thought they might.

I have 3/4cttw studs, and I had 1/2cttw huggies, and I wear the studs much more. I actually just sold my huggies, the posts were much thicker than normal earring, and they kinda hurt to put on. I'm not sure if it was them hurting that made me not wear them, or I just like the studs better. I did get small diamond hoops to replace the hurting huggies, but I still wear my studs more.

I'd say go for studs now, and put huggies on the list for later.

this happened to me too, and i never found the other one I haven't had the courage to replace it, because I am worried it will happen again.

My studs are .88 tcw and I have the 1.45 hugged hoops from Costco. I think I probably wear the hoops a little more. I also have some tiny .40 hoops from Costco and I wear these a fair amount too. The hoops are blingier so that is what I gravitate to but if I am going to be putting or taking off anything over my head (like shopping or hanging out at a pool wearing a cover up) then I wear studs.

I have 1.1ctw studs from bgd as well as a smaller pair of 0.5ctw studs from a local jeweller and a pair of 1.5ctw huggies from idj.

While the huggies are beautiful, I hardly ever wear mine. 7've never been much of a huggie/hoop girl. While I like the look on others, 9.5 times out of 10 I'll reach for studs.

The answer for me was double piercings. I wear my 1 ct studs in my second holes and diamond hoops/huggies or other earrings in the other holes. No more issues on what to wear, lol.

Diamond hoops from Whiteflash have been so highly rated here on Pscope! Anyone compare those to Brian Gavin's? Seems to be a big price difference.
Anyone have the small inside out diamond hoops from Whiteflash? Reviewers are those and the 5 stone hoops say they are more comfortable than studs. I wear my smaller studs everyday now just because they are easy on/off but would consider the diamond hoops if I could hear some more positives about them.
