This is a small thing to cross off my list, to be sure, but I had to do a little dance when I found THE china this morning:

Vera Wang does it all!

Oh that''s really gorgeous! I love Vera Wang''s china.

Gorgeous!! We are trying to pick out our china pattern, as well. There are a few Vera Wang patterns that I just love, but I''m a bit concerned they would be discontinued faster than normal because it''s not a standard Wedgwood pattern. Just don''t want to run into problems filling out our collection a few years down the road. Have you heard anything about that?

that is really beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven''t heard much about how Vera is discontinued. We''re not set on collecting the whole set because we don''t drink tea, use butter or gravy, etc. It''s a SMART SMART thing to think of, though! I would be tempted to buy as much as I could as soon as I could, just in case it really was discontinued. I''d hate to have to scour ebay trying to fill it out!

Hey Misysu! That pattern is awesome! I saw it at BB&B! It''s so luxurious! AND, not to mention one of the best parts about it.....it''s dishwasher safe!!! Ha!!

That pattern is too cute.

I too would be concerned with the VW china being discontinued. She has only been doing china since 2002, and in those 5 years, wedgewood has discontinued a few of her patterns. Of course if you look at them, they are nowhere as cute as your pattern. Since you pattern is also new, I''m sure it will quickly become a favorite, and you should not have to worry about. You will have plenty of time to complete your set.

Hey Misyu, great choice! That''s the same one we picked, only in the platinum!

That''s a pretty huge selling point!

Were your FIs involved in this, or did you just choose something you liked?

Misy - I LOVE that china! It was in our top two actually! It was my personal fave, but FI has slightly more modern taste and he liked this Kate Spade one ever so slightly more, so I decided to give in to encourage his good behavior in taking an interest in our china and obliging me with the trip to Macys :)

Anyway, like I said I LOVE that pattern - it is so pretty and reminds me of gorgeous lace. I wouldn''t be too concerned with it selling out...at least I wasn''t, and we''re in the same situation (Kate Spade''s Belle Boulevard, which is made by Lenox). I would bet they will be around for a long time, and even if they stop carrying them in the stores, I would think you could order them from Wedgwood for many years to come :)

I''m glad it gets the PS stamp of approval! Picking china was actually pretty difficult for me. I''m a person who loves decoration and color, but I''ve heard many times that your china is best left white and simple. I think this Vera does a good job of meeting in the middle. :) I think it''ll be a great change from all of our colorful dishes!

FI wasn''t involved in my choice. If he were, we''d still be arguing over decorative nuances. We have VASTLY different tastes! The only registry items he helped with were knives (and a $800 bowflex and $5000 plasma tv, which I took off--shh!!

) I liked it that way. Granted, my registry is on Amazon. If we went to a physical store, FI would''ve come willingly and surely given more input on everything.

I wonder if my FI would let me get away with that when we start to register. I tell him I think it is unfair to our guest not to register, how else will they know what we want/need?

I would strongly suggest registering-- if not, you may end up with a lot of junk you will never use. :)

I like Amazon, because it's easy to update and they have everything!

Oh that''s such a pretty pattern! For a while I was thinking about only registering for casual dishes, but I''m starting to think that maybe I should register for some nicer china after seeing how pretty yours is. Is only a certain type of china dishwasher safe? That would be a huge selling point for me!
