Hello everyone! I'm new to pricescope and am currently shopping for a ruby ring. I found a ruby I love, but it is fracture filled.

I really want ruby around 2 carats, but don't have a big budget. Only about $1500 USD for the whole ring. Will a fracture filled stone be more likely to break?
Thanks in advance!

I did read that before posting, and it said that if put in a sonic cleaner it could damage the stone. I was more curious about daily wear. I also tried searching and most of the posts I was finding were about diamonds. Thank you though! I might have to downsize or just put off the purchase until I can afford a non-fracture filled stone.

Okay, here's a couple of good threads re: ruby treatments:

Basically, a fracture-filled ruby is one you will have to baby - while some fillers are better than others, it is unlike at $357 the ruby you are considering will stand the test of time and daily living. However, when it gets to the point where it no longer is attractive to your eyes, at least it is a fairly stock size at apx 7x7mm - conceivably you could buy a replacement ruby and switch them out.

If you're okay with a very high level of treatment (which fracture-filling is), a beryllium-treated ruby could get you a durable natural ruby at a cheap price.
