Just curious, is anyone here familiar with vintage (say 1960s) Arpege? Given my love of No. 5, I'm thinking I would probably like it, but I've never smelled it.
Anty thoughts?
Not this one. I have smelled a few from this house though. I found them to be not worth the prices they were asking.Has anyone tried Parfums de Marly Delina?

SOTD Andrea Maack Sharp. My favorite of the bunch is Smart but Sharp is a nice change. Sweet not too sweet, vanilla, musk and floral and orange. I like it very much.
I have not tried this but searched the notes and it sounds like a lovely combo. Notes:Bergamot, lychee, rhubarb, nutmeg, Turkish rose, vanilla, musk, Haitian vetiver, cedar, frankincense, cashmeran.
And such a pretty bottle. Worth ordering a sample perhaps?
Thanks ladies! I might try a sample as I've heard good things about this one, if I do, I'll report back.
SO many niche to try.
Today I'm wearing the 2017 Miss Dior EDP. It hasn't been greeted with cries of joy yet going by the reaction of the Miss Dior faithful, I think it's nice but not groundbreaking, but sometimes just a pleasant scent is what you want.
Chanel beige. Safe choice, nice & pleasant. 250 ml vat , so I'm spraying away..

Isn't it delicious when you have the perfume you love in abundance or as I like to say "in abbondanza"
It's a peaceful calm feeling not having to worry about running out of one's favorite perfume anytime soon.
Spraying with happy abandon.
It's lovely - and definitely a must try if you love No. 5. The prices are also fairly tame due to the popularity of it in the past. Also worth noting is that the current formulation is lovely, but nothing like the vintage. It was once a grand perfume with aldehydes and flower - it's not a peachy-floral, not as sophisticated, but still good (in the same vein as, say, Tresor).
Yes! I'm always getting nervous when I only have a tiny bit left.
I think it's my first experience with my signature scent getting axed (Lalique, the original in a teal box). They then brought it back and it was much paler, not as deep. SA s everywhere claimed it was only repackaged in a white box. I was 25 and questioning myself /my nose . They talked to me like I was CRAYCRAY. So frustrating. I started hoarding BUBs of the old stuff... the beginning of the a serious BUB habit...
Ah. Thank you. That's helpful. From all the reviews I knew it was an aldehydic floral, which seem to be favorites of mine. And Tresor is one of my staples, so I can't help but think I'd love it.
I know everyone here is into samples and new stuff, and I've done some of it and will likely do more. But it seems I'm going down the vintage road at present. Everyone knows I love No 5, so since I have the 60s-70s vintage EDC and EDT, I decided to attempt a round-out of my collection. I'm waiting on delivery of what looks to be a 1950s - 60s extrait. If it's a fake, it's the best fake I've ever seen, but we shall see. So far it ticks all the boxes - both the pictures, and the type of seller I have had the best luck buying perfume from: someone who sells a whole bunch of other stuff and has a few bottles of perfume mixed in. Anyway, it's supposed to arrive on Friday. I'll let you guys know either the agony or the ecstasy.
Oh, and if it's the ecstasy, the seller has what appear to be a couple of decently priced 60s vintage bottles of Arpege. I might snag one.
I know, the old reformulation issue. Customers know when their favourite has been altered or decimated beyond all recognition.
That's why I have many backups of Habanita EDT, it's discontinued now so I wanted to make sure I had a lifetime supply, plus I got it cheap.
So periodically I search on Ebay for discontinued old favs. Last night I was reminded of Miss Dior Cherie EdP so went hunting for it. There are two or three bottles available but priced over $300. It's been like that since it became reformulated in 2011 then later discontinued. I really like it but would rather have an Amouage at that price...
