Auction down the road from me has this - looks like mostly poor quality but correct me if I'm missing something amazing in there.

Those rubies look worthless, blue topazes are worthless, but maybe a few of the emeralds are nice, if natural. Depending on the price, no cert = too risky for me to buy.

My mom bought me an auction lot once, which was such a super sweet gesture. While it had some cool stuff (tourmalines and we'll colored topaz), all the rubies were heavily filled and the emeralds were poor quality, all the other beryl's had clearly been set before with edge chips. I really don't trust lot auctions because of that.

If they all sold for very cheap, like $30 then theyd be fun learning stones but none look like they're anything wonderful. A closer picture of the gem box with the square emeralds might be in order but they all look really meh.

Ive bought quality loose gems from auction, by accident!
If you just want them as some loose little pretties and pay a small amount, why not. The point here being that when gems are good the vendors usually know and market them accordingly to get a good price. If they are poor quality they say very little and let buyers decide what they are worth.
So I’d doubt that there’s much there of quality but you never know!

Auctions like that are a bit of a lottery, you might get everything that is enhanced, filled with glass, heavily treated or synthetic and you might get real things worth a bit of money. Don't spend more than you are prepared to if they all turn out to be worthless that's the best advice I can give unless you are fairly certain there is something of value in there.

well, the topaz are not that great looking, at least to me. The other ones might be ok but you'd have to see in person. Its a crap shoot. If its cheap enough might be worth finding out whats in there. I would not pay a lot of these pieces though tbh...
