Gemselect... are they any good?

So I'm very new to this...
I'm looking at smokey quartz on gemselect and various other vendors. The prices vary by A LOT. However, as I'm a newbie I can't seem to tell the difference between expensive smokey quartz and gemselect smokey quartz. Should I order from gemselect? The reviews I've found are very mixed.. Thanks all!

Smokey quartz is pretty cheap and abundant. You shouldn't pay too much for it. Precision cut stones of course are a bit different in that you're paying more for the art of the cutting, especially on cheaper stone types like quartz.

Perhaps give some examples of what you're looking at?
