Although it may be a bit too advanced for the average Joe, many of you here (with GIA training) will be able to appreciate these charts:

In GIA they give them to you for free, but without going for your Gemology degree, the charts are somewhat useful, based on Refractive Index and other traits of the stone.

I saw this and thought of some of the newbies to Gemstone collecting... Enjoy!

Nicrez - is this the actual/identical material now provided GIA students, or is it of British origin?

It''s a different product. The author is Swiss/Italian.

I have a copy I got as a promotional sample from the author, but I haven''t had the call to use it (as I have plenty of other references), so I can''t give an opinion on its usefulness.
