This wouldn't be a huge investment. Just a simple piece to wear as a right hand ring. I'm imagining setting in yellow gold with maybe some tapered side baguettes or traps? Just wanted general feedback. Wondering if it might be too dark once set? Dark is fine, I just don't want it so dark that it takes away from the effect of the faceting and sparkle.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think a dark background makes the stone look more saturated. That means it would be lighter in person. It’s pretty and clean. It looks like a tourmaline to me. Is it from Australia?

It's from Kenya actually! It does look a lot like the greens that come from Australia though.

Oh cool! I didn’t know about those. We don’t get a lot of green sapphires on here.

My green sapphire is an emerald cut, and i love it, but it does lack a little saturation, and i think it may have a window. I picked it when i was still brand spanking new to pricescope, and i felt rushed, but for comparisons sake i'll try and post you a few pictures tomorrow.

Huh, i actually happen to have some on my computer. this is probably the best picture of the window/lack of saturation. 20180102_142651.jpg

Exactly, it should be viewed on a plain white background.

I’d probably like it a little bit lighter in color, so this wouldn’t be a bad thing to me.

With the strong lighting vendors usually use it's hard to say if it will be lighter or darker. But I think it's a nice cut and a nice shade of green. I wonder if it will color shift in different lighting?

I say BUY it!! And post lots of photos. :mrgreen2:

I haven’t received a response yet on whether it’s heated or not, but for $240, I’m very very very tempted.

Looks very nice to me! Definitely ask for pics on a white background or outside to show the tone & saturation better. Think it’ll look fab set in yellow gold.
