Gene's newest stones (precision gem)

I ordered the Winza sapphire. I love the mix of blue and red. I find it very intriguing. He had one years ago that I absolutely loved but it was purchased before I got to it. sad :(( Hopefully this one will be just as gorgeous in person.

Well sh*t, I guess I missed out on this one too because I just got my refund notice from Gene. ;( I’m going to hope a PSr bought it so that I can at least admire the pics.

I hope so too- I'd like to see different lighting.
I bought one last July from him and i thought it went beige-y in certain lighting. I did not keep it.

I had that happen not too terribly long ago as well, and I was super bummed because I thought his new(er) system fixed that issue which actually kept me from even bothering trying for any I was interested in for a long time. :(2

Last one I lost out on was a rubellite tourmaline. He was kind enough to cut me a new one after that but I still dream of the one that got away. o_O

@Rfisher that's interesting. Did you take any pics of it? Isn't it amazing how significantly colored gems can change?

I did snap some photos- but they didn't survive the latest data purge.
I think color shift is fascinating, but it's hard when that's a deciding factor on whether or not to keep a gem!

Don’t I know it. I returned a pink sapphire because it looked great under all sorts of lighting but I didn’t like it outside. It took on brownish tones. :confused2: I just couldn’t get past it.

Ya it makes me hesitate even if I see that the add to cart button is still available. I feel incredulous if a stone I deem coveted is still available you know. I think to myself, oh someone must have bought it already...
 
Here are some pictures of the Winza sapphire. My indoor pictures are awful, and the two outside show the colors. It is gorgeous and mesmerizing. I love it!!!

I’m so glad it was you! If I had to lose out, I’m glad it was to a PSr. At least now I can ogle your pics. What do you think of it from light to light?
 
BTW, I felt awful when I saw that you wanted it. It is a very cool gem! I love the blending of the colors. It reminds me of a sherbet swirl. It doesn't go dark or yucky. I'm already planning to have it set into a filigree mount I saw on etsy by RoseM. Any thoughts on the gold color?

I’m not familiar with that seller and I definitely need to see her stuff now. :D I’d love to see it in rose gold (because I’m on a rose gold kick) but I’m leaning towards white gold. :eek2: Hard core undecided though. :lol-2:

My first thought was rose gold and how luscious it would be with the plum color.
