Getting my hands on this dress

I found an Allure Exclusive dress in a magazine that I ADORE. It is part of the 2009 exclusive collection. Two bridal stores in my state carry the line, but not this particular style. I am waiting from a reply from another store in a city about 3 hours away (not in my state.)

What are some options if I want to try this dress on, but don''t want to have it ordered in (since then I have to buy it)?? Has anyone been in this position before?

Ask if they can order the dress for you to try on. You will probably have to pay about $50 to do this, but it can be applied to the price of the dress, if you decide to buy. This service was offered to me many times with gowns that I wanted to try on that weren''t in town. Your other option is to wait for a trunk show, if you have the time.

Sorry to bump this ladies, but I really am wondering what I should do? Surely someone has been in this position before? I mean, what is the point of endless bridal ads in magazines, etc. if you try searching for one and can''t even find it?

As HouseCat said, ask area stores to order the dress for you to try on, but be willing to pay.

There''s a chance they''ll even order it in your size (if you''re in the usual sample-size range) with the chance you''ll buy the "sample." And if not, well, then it stays in the store and they keep the money you paid to order it in the first place.
