Gift Books

Has anyone seen a little book that I can purchase where I can write down all the gifts I am receiving. Gifts from my registry are beginning to trickle in and I want to make sure that I don''t forget to send thank yous.

Hm...so far I don''t know of any books, but I read in a magazine/saw on TV that one great way to do it is every time you receive a gift write the person''s name down on a notecard and keep them all in a notecard holder then slowly send thank you notes. Would that work, or would you really like a nice book?

I bought one from Target for $5. I listed the name of the guest, their address, the gift, and a field where you entered when you sent the thank you card. I don''t think you need a book. I only got it because the book came with a bunch of other stuff too (it was a binder/organizer with time lines, a place to organize our vendor, bridal party, and guest list information.) You could print out a sheet from word or excel and keep it in a binder.

I bought a very old-fashiony wedding record book at Hobby Lobby for something ridiculously cheap--$5 maybe. It has pages to record all the little details of the wedding, including gifts. I love it, it reminds me of something my grandmother might have used.

Excel user here too. I''m anti-clutter, so I keep ALL my wedding stuff in one excel workbook with different tabs for addresses, confirmed guest list / table assignments, budget, gifts received / thank yous sent, etc.

My spreadsheet for gifts received lists everybody''s names, then there''s a column where I type in the gift, then I put a little ''x'' in the third column once the thank you has been sent.

And of course I back up regularly.

I was just planning to add a couple columns on my Excel guest list for this. That way the names are already there and you don''t have to write or retype them all.
