Gift for new stepson?

My fiance and I have full custody of my 11-year-old stepson-to-be. His mother, by her own choices, is not very much in his life. I''ve been parenting him for the last couple of years.

I''d really like to get him something nice for the wedding, something he can keep, to symbolize our joining as a family.

If he was a girl I''d get him a nice locket or something, but what do you get for a boy?

This is tough. Maybe a cross or other religious symbol on a chain with something nice engraved on it ie: "Today we become a family". Or something like that. Maybe even a wedding band comparable to FH?
