I''ve got the fever so bad I feel as if I won''t live another day if he doesn''t at least ORDER THE DAMN RING!!!! My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years now, and we have been through SO MUCH!!!! It has been absolutely insane. I''m sure I''ll get in to all of that craziness later.......... for now it''s all about the FEVER!!!!

We spent quite some time picking out rings I liked. He really didn''t know much about buying diamonds. Quite clueless actually.... So I did some massive searching and ended up at Blue Nile. I have my setting and diamond picked out (well I have for about 2 weeks now) and he insists that I must wait until after the holidays. It''s going to be the end of me, I just know it. We are taking a vacation to Vegas in the beginning of January, and it is my secret desire that he will have gotten the ring by then and he is going to pop the question in Sin City.

I would just feel so much better if he just ordered it now and waited to give it to me if that is what he wants. I already had one diamond that I had picked out bought by someone else. I almost cried. The ring is very pretty. One carat round brilliant solitaire, in a platinum setting with alternating round and baguettes in a bar channel setting. Classic and elegant. I can''t wait to see it on my finger!!!!

It has infected my brain and my every thought is encompassed by this ring!!! I can''t even believe myself. I feel like I need some sort of diamond lusting therapy. So I see that this is just the perfect thing.

Welcome to our world!

Maybe we can all get a group therapy rate?

Girl, I feel your pain! My man and I have been dating for almost 4 years now. Somedays I think he''s about to ask, then other days, I think its never going to come. I am going nuts!!!!

I joked with him the other night that that is ALL I want for Xmas. Ha ha.

We should start a club. I am sure we can recruit members.

Good luck and at least we have eachother!

Welcome Madarski! I understand your pain! I''ve been with my boyfriend for 6 years now, so its been a loooooong wait, we too have been through so much. But heres my new problem, he has my ring finally!!! We picked out the diamond together last month, he had it set and now its sitting 2 floors up in my mother-in-laws apartment and I cant do anything about it. Now, that is stress!! I dream about this ring every night and I''ve begged him to show me, but he wont. Now, I just have to sit and wait for him to ask. It better be before this year is over or I"ll go nuts! I have my fingers crossed for both of us that it happens soon!

Welcome, Madarski!

I know how you feel. At least I did. It took five years but we''re finally engaged now. Hang in there.

Welcome, welcome--I feel your pain! (EIGHT years people....waiting to see what transpires over Thanksgiving.)

Anyway, hang in there....you might want to check out the "Anxious to get the e-ring" thread...there is a whole group over there, and you are not alone in the diamond-brain-takeover known as the fever

It will happen!!

Welcome! I''m in the same boat as you . . . nearly 3 years together, heading to my hometown of Las Vegas for NYE. New Year''s Day would actually be our official 2.5 year anniversary. I''m not getting my hopes up for a ring, but it would be the perfect opportunity to do so. In the meantime, I''ve been trying to teach him about Asschers (my stone of choice) and let him go from there. He''s a digital artist, so he wants to design my ring, and have it be a surprise. I''m just finding that following my 29th birthday, I''m ready to be surprised already.

Good luck to you! Perhaps I''ll see you in Vegas - with new blingage!

Hey everyone,

I have been lurking for weeks looking at the amazing rings and since this topic came up, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to butt in! I''ve been with my boyfriend for 8.5 YEARS! But I just turned 24, so I''m not quite ready for an engagement yet (I want to finish school first)..and I want a nice ring! My boyfriend is diligently saving away, but what I want seems to keep increasing every year. And it gets worst when I see all of the engagement rings on this site! It''s nice that I''m not the only one who isn''t engaged! I expect a lot of people will be by January though...

seems like this is the "anxious to get the e-ring" thread for newbies!!!! i am in THE SAME FRICKIN BOAT. (excuse my french.) my boyfriend has purchased the ring from union diamond, i know what it is and all (check my "no pics yet.. but i have to share" thread below) but apparently he has it in a temporary setting that won''t even fit on my finger (he claims it''s a size 5, their stock size, while i''m a size 6.5). so i''m waiting for him to send it back, get it set in the right setting, get it back, talk to my parents.... THEN propose. i''m going to DIE... seriously, i am the most impatient person in the world and EVERY day i feel heartbroken that it''s not the day!! every word he says and every thing he does i get suspicious now. call me a princess, but whatever... oh, we''ve been together for almost 2 years now (it''ll be 2 years in january) and we were pretty sure about marrying each other about six months into our relationship. so although the wait hasn''t been as long as some of you (8 years!!! goodness gracious!!!) i''m definitely ready to get that ring on my finger. DAMMIT I WANT MY RING!!!

ok... sorry. i am going psycho.

(my bf is going to kill me if he sees me posting here on pricescope.. he told me weeks ago to stop reading the forums because it makes me even MORE crazy and psycho, seeing BEAUTIFUL rings and getting more and more impatient.)

It looks like we''ll be in Vegas from Jan 4-6!! How long are you guys staying? I''ve never been, so I''m really excited!! Maybe it''s better if he doesn''t propose then, because we are just the couple to get hitched while we are there. We don''t really want a traditional wedding. I was thinking more along the lines of flying just our parents and siblings to Hawaii and getting married barefoot on the beach. I don''t think I''m too keen on having Elvis be our witness!!!!

This is what I love about this forum - we can all relate. Once upon a time, my college boyfriend surprised me with an engagement ring, and although it was nice, and there was no waiting, it was soooooo not my taste in every aspect. Fast forward a number of years. The love of my life recently proposed to me without a ring. It''s been almost two months since we selected THE ONE. I''ve had my bratty, impatient moments (I know it''s been ready for a while), but knowing I''m getting a ring I love - it definitely helps. Madarski, even though it''s difficult...torturous even, I''m sure the wait will be well worth it. Do you have pics of the ring you''ve decided on?

i don''t know how you do it!!!!! i would totally be breaking in that apartment and finding that ring. It would be KILLING me!!!! That''s so crazy. Just try to convince yourself that the torture will be worth the wait. Maybe he''s planning a really elaborate and wonderful proposal!! It will all be worth it!

Let me try to put it on here. I''m not sure it will work.

yup. it didn''t work. I''m not sure how I should upload the pics.

No big proposal planned. How I know is a long story, but here it goes. I have a ring that his father had set for me (using his mother''s stone), but neither of us liked it (luckily the fiance said something first). He really wanted me to have a ring I loved, so we chose one together and he picked it up. He made me wait weeks so he could make some grand gesture (this was my bratty period), but his brother came into town with his wife (she and my fiance do not get along) who made a snarky comment about my "temporary" ring. That was it, he wanted to shove that new bigger and better ring in her face (hey - I had no problems with getting it sooner), but he hid the new one in the garage of a 3 unit complex (big space, lots of junk) when he was very ill and very heavily medicated. It was never found, but luckily, it was insured. He went back to the jewelry store to order the ring - again. He let it slip in his sleep (he''s a big time sleep talker) that it should be ready this weekend. I hope it''s as pretty as I remember. We did no research and picked it out 15 minutes after deciding to get a new one. I''m kind of glad I didn''t look around too much, though, because all the choices out there probably would have left me indecisive and frustrated.

I''m sure my bf wouldn''t be too happy either!!! But i think at least we have someone to talk about it with. I don''t want to talk about it with him. I''m not trying to have him get the ring and propose because I''ve absolutely driven him crazy hearing about it all of the time. So I think that is what girlfriends are for. To vent. We can be crazy with eachother, and little do they know. They think we are just being so cool about respecting their desires to wait and be patient!! What they don''t know won''t kill them.

aeli, what a story, i cant believe the ring was never found! thank god you had insurance. i''m sure you''ll love the ring you picked out. i picked a round .91 ideal cut diamond in a white gold knife edge setting. I havent actually seen it set yet (since i was only there to choose the stone) but I''m sure I will love it! I know what you mean though, there are soooo many choices. After he bought the stone, I came on here and thought, wouldnt I love to have one of those beautiful Cushion cuts, or a radiant! But you cant second guess your pick or spend forever looking without getting frustrated and even more confused.

madarski, do you know how bad i want to break into that apartment?!!! I came sooo close to getting pics of the ring. I gave my honey his digital camera and told him to go into her apartment and take some pictures of the ring cuz I really really wanted to at least see it in a photo. He got up there, found out there was no memory card in the camera and before I had time to run it up there he called me back and changed his mind. His mom convinced him not to show me, to keep it a surprise!!! GRRRRR...I was so mad! The wait definetely is killing.

Those damn mother in laws!!!!! They will be the death of us!!!! I think you need to get the black ski mask and go up there ninja style!!! But that''s just me.....

Brocksgirl24, your ring sounds beautiful. I''m definitely glad I found something I liked right away because I could probably find a new and totally different ring to fall in love with every day. The thing I remember most clearly about my shopping experience, though, was that the ring I liked the least in the case was the one that looked the most fabulous on my finger, and that''s the one I''ll be taking home (hopefully this weekend).

WHOA ladies, where'd you all come from and why haven't we seen you on the Anxious thread???

Actually I've been considering starting a new thread since Anxious has so many pages (and I know how intimidating it can be for newbies to feel like they have to read through ALL of them before they can post!) so I think now's the time to do it!

madarski, VAgal13, Brocksgirl24, allycat0303, and dietvanillacoke, you're on the list now! (aeli, PM me if you need to be added? I note that you've gotten your proposal but not your ring, but you're welcome to join while you wait for your diamond!

You''re not horrible, it''s the FEVER !!!! We should come with side effect warnings!!! WARNING: MAY SNAP AT EVERY LITTLE THING YOU SAY OR EVERY SUGGESTION THAT INVOLVES SPENDING MONEY THAT IS NOT SOMEHOW RELATED TO BUYING OUR RING. MAY SEEM IRRITABLE AT ALL TIMES WHEN, IN FACT, WE ARE SIMPLY DUMBFOUNDED BY YOUR CALM AND COLLECT DEMEANOR AND ABILITY HAVE PATIENCE AND PIECE OF MIND WHEN PLANNING OUR FUTURE. MAY SEEM UTTERLY DISTRACTED AND HAVE THE APPEARANCE OF A DREAM LIKE STATE............IT''S TRUE!!!!!!!! BECAUSE YOU HAVE TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF PLANTING THAT NASTY LITTLE SEED IN OUR HEADS THAT WE MIGHT ACTUALLY GET ENGAGED SOON.....IT HAS NOW TAKEN OVER EVERY FUNCTION OUR BRAIN ATTEMPTS TO PERFORM!!!!

Damn those guys. haha. I should be at the gym right now, but what am i doing????? obsessing just a little more. You really must come to terms with your new addiction.

I really know how you feel, as do many many women out there....as you can clearly see/hear...

Anyway, just don''t get too nutty, as I admit I did...in ways, I ruined it for myself...it was in the works and then I had to go about my "ways"...and well - I blew the surprise...

Be patient and you''ll have an engagement you''ll never forget...

Perhaps suggest buying a brand new home together first....that got the ball rolling for me...which goes hand and hand with the e-ring...
