Going with different florist... things happen for a reason.

Well, since the other florist''s contract was giving me intense heartburn I sent out querries on Friday. Been talking to florists all weekend and found another one I really clicked with. She has the experience level I''m comfortable with (has done almost the exact same centerpieces before), a price that beats the other one as her centerpiece price includes the rental of the expensive vases I want (yay) and a VERY nice outlook on contracts (let me add what I wanted, was very ammendable, and no suspicious terms). Very professional. Her website is GAWD AWFUL and hasn''t been updated since 1997, but I saw other examples of her work and am happy!

This also means I''m likely to be increasing my floral order with her as she is now well... slightly UNDER budget. And we can''t have that, can we?

I really love flowers.

Things happen for a reason. The other florist''s contract prompted me to get off my bum and look around. And I''m very happy I did.

Yeah, the website is just SUPER dated. The minute I mentioned it, she said "Isn''t it horrible? It''s been up since 1997! And it shows!" So that was a HUGE relief.

And you are right, referrals are HUGE in the wedding industry.

Indeed. I''m very happy to have that off my list. I''ll be able to work with her, and she won''t nickle and dime me. Which is what it felt like the other florist would do to me. She actually included more flowers than I had asked for in the qoute. I think it''s going to be lovely. Really lovely.

I know what you mean. I was always on this board pre-planning and it was hard, I wanted to book things ASAP. SO ((HUGS)). It will happen very soon, you''ll be surprised how soon. I remember T-Gal''s planning like it was yesterday. Literally. And now she''s married and preggers.

I totally agree. She basically said that she''s getting plenty of business from referrals, so it''s been on the back burner for her to have it updated since she rarely gets bookings from her site (she doesn''t advertise on the knot and such). I still think it turns away business though. Of the highly recommended florists I called, she was only one of two that had availability. And that''s because the other does more than one wedding a day and costs the earth (double my next highest qoute).

Yes, the website could use some work, but if she doesn''t really have to use it as a tool, I guess that''s not the worst thing in the world since her work apparently speaks for itself.

Can''t wait to see pictures when it''s all said and done!
