Good deals in Sydney, Australia (Newbie)

Hi all from Aussie land.

I got engaged about a month ago and as a researcher by trade I''m trying to get the best deal I can on our student budget. I''m aware of Icestore in Oz and lots of places that I can buy diamonds online from overseas but would prefer not to have to go into the hassle (I have no idea of the costs involved in this) of importing a diamond. I have an engagement and wedding ring in mind and would like to get them made - which appears to be cheaper than buying a ring from any of the shops I''ve seen so far. Does anyone have any ideas about a good quality jeweller in Sydney who isn''t overpriced and that I can rely on to give good advice about diamonds? Thanks for any advice.
