Got a new camera so here I am with new stones...

I have not posted in a long time because I was distracted by other hobbies

Got a new camera this year, and finally ordered a macro lens. Played with it today. Thought I'd share my recent purchases with you gals.

First up is a tanzanite from Gene, concave cut. I will be asking for design advice soon. Pictures really don't do this gem justice.

This is a pink spinel from Dana, from a few years ago. I've ordered a pendant (from an eBay seller I believe), but never had it set. Now I am ready to visit my goldsmith. It is very sparkly.

This is a tiny Russian Demantoid from dear Barry. 0.63ct. Very hard to capture with camera. I found this semi-mounting ring in NYC - do you think it works?

Me too! The demantoid in its setting is SO pretty. That's a mean Tanz, too -- should be gorgeous when set. What sort of ideas do you have for it?

As usual, I will echo what JF said - love the demantoid in its setting, and love the Gene tanzanite. I should mention that I am not a fan of concave cut stones, and yet I still like your tanzi - a lot!
