I love the color of australian Sapphire. I bought once a small sapphire of $150 approx , It never reached to me and lost my money. From that time stopped buying them.

II hope that at some point (pun) you would consider setting the sapphire in a way that will protect the corners; perhaps not urgent, since they will not likely meet any hard surface (as ring stones might) except while the pendant is put down. I would wear it as it is for a while, sure enough !
