I'm planning a late afternoon outdoor wedding on September 30th, and really want to allow for adequate post-ceremony picture taking time. I stumbled across this website, which was invaluable: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneDay.html

We're now pushing back the cermony by 1/2hr to give us a bit more time. Otherwise, we would've only had 20 minutes!

Great resource but whoa, we might have miscalculated last spring when we booked our time! Our 20-minute ceremony starts at 6pm. We have the chapel (Wayfarers Chapel, for those of you the Southbay of LA) until 7pm and plan to stop along the PV cliffs for pics on the way to the reception in S. Redondo. We might be too early for the best sunset sky...b/c the site says sunset will be at 7:41 pm...

What smart ladies you are! To think, before the Internet, what did brides do to make sure their photos were taken at "optimum" time?! LOL! I think they must''ve relied on the Farmer''s Almanac in the old days....we are so lucky to have technology on our side these days, but one look at the "bride world wide" forum and you can see we will always have the same questions and doubts in our minds!

I got married at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2003, and I remember the photographer hustling us outside around 4 to "get what was left of the light"--we hadn''t the foresight to realize that our best photos would be taken in daylight! Fortunately, she knew what she was doing, and so will your photographer/videographer. I think it''s great that you will be prepared and can hopefull keep in mind the timing of daylight on your day, just in case the photographer does not.
