I just read Basil''s thread about shoes she''s planning on changing into for her reception (nice shoes, by the way -- they look super comfy). Basil referenced a link that Frekechild had given (I''m not sure which one but I''ll check). That got me thinking -- what are the best websites and brands/labels you''ve found lately? I''ve been trying to focus my own search on shoes that I could definitely wear again, and I personally can''t wear heels. I''ll post what I''ve found lately, even if they''re not drop dead gorgeous. I''d love to see what others are looking at -- comfy, stylish, whatever.

Here are ones I''ve recently found:

Mudd "Linz"on the left and Grasshopper "Seaport II" on the right. The Mudd shoes are the kind that lace up your ankle. I''m not a huge fan of that style for me, so I just tied the "laces" around the bottom of my ankle and it seemed to work (wear them with jeans and you''d never know). The Grasshopper shoes aren''t the most stylish but they are really comfy and I like the button. They come in navy and red (this color is stone).

Both websites have great shoes, again more for comfort than for style, but definitely rewearable.

This is the website that FrekeChild had referenced in another thread. At least I think it was her!

www.ShoesOnaShoestring.com

I like Zappos for their free shipping and easy returns, but if you are certain of what you want their prices are a little higher. And they don''t have many cheap shoes under $30-40.

As for brands, I like RocketDog. I''ve bought a few pairs from them over the years and they are cute and comfy, and not too expensive. Reception shoes are Rocketdog.

I also like Born, Clarks, and Aerosoles. Brands that are stylish but have some emphasis on comfort. My ceremony shoes are Born.

I wear heels almost exclusively so I cannot speak much about flats, but of the three companies who heels I find really comfortable, one, http://www.naturalizer.com/, does a huge number flats. They also have dressy flats which I really don''t see that often but love.

If you like sexy high-heels, Carlos shoes are great. I have the
red Pounce shoes and they''re really HOT.

I like Zappos because there is such great variety, all in one place! As a shoe addict, I could spend SO much time on there just ogling the beauties they sell.

Huh, I didn''t know Carlos Santana was shoe designer also. I like a lot of the shoes on his site but I''d fall flat on my face if I tried to wear them.

Zoe, I think that it''s actually his wife that designs them, she just capitalizes on using his name.

It was Shoesonashoestring.com. I actually used to be a manager at one of the stores, so I was somewhat involved in the internet sales, shipping and receiving as well as the front stuff.

My go to place for shoes in general is piperlime.com for anything unless I can''t find what I''m looking for there-in which case, I''ll just go where ever I find the shoes I want whether it''s in town or at a different online store.

I love shoes.

Thanks for the info. FrekeChild. I was having a very hard time imagining Carlos Santana sitting there, discussing which type of heel to put on a particular shoe. It was a funny visual but I wasn''t buying it.

I know that if I ever get a pair, I''ll get a good chuckle out of putting them on. I''ll probably be humming one of his tunes as I slip them on my feet.
